"Excellent family hotel with lovely pool and staff"
Went there on a family vacation for a week and have to say, it was superb. The beds could be better.. the only gripe.
The staff are amazing and very helpful. The quality of food is very good as well and to top it all, the pool is huge. Very child friendly and would definitely recommend. Getting the pool lounges is not an issue as we normally went there at our leisure and still always found atleast a couple available next to each other. Since this hotel is not on the beach, would recommend a pool view room as the view is really worth it.
Can Picafort is a nice place with loads of places to eat and shop, a decent harbour and the beach is lovely. You can walk left when you reach the beach to find quieter spots. Only problem was water sports for our 7 year old on the beach. There were none for his age. But if you go to Alcudia which is about 12 km from Can Picafort (frequent bus serivce or 15-20 Euros by cab), there are options there.
Self catering very disappointing. Basic utensils, no kettle or toaster,no grill or oven. Only two hot plates, microwave and a fridge. Ok if you eat out or in the hotel, not so good for families with children.
We booked a 5 day autumn break and chose the hotel for its facilities, location and the superior category room. We opted for a mountain view room (9017) which was more extensive and impressive than the sea view. The room was large, clean and comfortable and there was a big sunny private terrace. The hotel is very spread out and we were at the far end, by the (excellent) infinity pool and terrace restaurant. Despite a complicated walk to Reception, we would recommend that location. Not ideal for guests with mobility issues. First class gym and spa. The staff were friendly and helpful, though attention to detail and resolving minor issues quickly was variable. Room service dinner was good and reasonable value, and the Tapas menu in the Terrace restaurant was good. Breakfast (included) was OK; but again with minor service wrinkles. The hotel also caters for mid-sized conferences and business groups but we did not find this an issue.
The last kilometer of road access to and from Port Soller is slightly challenging and there is a 20 Euro per night fee to park on site. We always found free street parking nearby - involves a short steep walk back to the hotel. Overall,we would recommend..

Although the complex was outside of Port of Pollensa, it was not too difficult to get into the town and also travel to Alcudia was on a local bus route. The buses were cheap and even after 9pm, a taxi only cost 8-10 euros. The description on the complex made it sound as though it was nearer amenities, it is a good 40 -50 minutes walk to town and There is no beach to sit on across the road, it is a good 10-15 minutes away
With a bit of trepidation I booked this hotel via Expedia, having always booked direct with hotels in past. Arrived at 2.30pm at the viva Bahia, Went to reception and was checked in and in our apartment in 5 Mins flat! Apartment was great, really large bedroom, 2 x sofa beds in lounge, 2 sinks off the bathroom and a bath, loo and the best Shower I have ever had on holiday before! Surroundings fantastic, 3 pools linked together, pirate ship for the kids and a Chill out area for over 18's with own beautiful pool and balanese beds, which we used every day until 8 pm most nights the weather was that good! If you have kids, you wont see them all holiday, the kids entertainment was great. If you were a couple with no kids like us, You will be climbing the walls from 7.30 to 8.30 each night with the kids disco. If I hear Cowboy,Barbie girl or If you're happy and you know it one more time, I will scream ! Bufo the bear, the hotel mascot, was very lucky I did not lynch him! Apart from the kids entertainment each night, which was only for an hour, I have not enjoyed a holiday so much in years. A total chill out, walking along the fantastic beach, swimming in the warm tropical water ( any reports you may hear that the beach is overcrowded, is from lazy people who dont want to walk 50 m where the beach is empty, you can even go nudist it it takes your fancy! All in All A fantastic Complex, Easy to get around and We will be booking again next year
