"This place was a pigsty both inside and outside. There is broken furniture and crap everywhere. The kitchen benchtops were all cut and damaged. It was more a mens hostel than a backpackers. The room I was given was dirty, and the toilet had been used. There were hairs in the sink and ants crawling on me in my bed. There was no blanket. I had to use the second bath towel for warmth. "Such a lovely spot only a few minutes outside Maleny, just past the Showgrounds. You enter down a bit of a hidden driveway, the property sits on 2 acres of gardens - we had the whole ground floor which included 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 seating areas inside, dining area, kitchen and laundry. Outside and in the gardens there are so many places to sit and just enjoy the ambience. King Ludwigs German restaurant is only a 5 minute drive, on the same road. - We did dinner and went back the next day...

"I have stayed at the Mantra for many years from when it opened for family holidays, weekends away, single night work trips and even staged a conference at the property one year. It's a great location however it is starting to feel a little tired. I was in a 1st floor apartment this visit and it was fine, however there was a bad smell of stale smoke.
