The Gold Coast is a treat for those who like decadent shopping excursions, exploring nature, and lounging on warm beaches.
Places like Broadbeach, Lamington National Park, and Surfers Paradise all cater to both locals and tourists, and are only a few of the many fantastic destinations that can be found in this marvellous location.
Cheap flights to the Gold Coast are relatively easy to find during the majority of the year, but certain months are busier than others, so it is important to plan ahead.
From mid-October to January, this city if flooded with tourists and locals. This is largely due to the fact that tourists enjoy the invitingly warm weather, while the citizens enjoy Schoolies Week in November and the Indy 300 in October.
If you do not book in advance, inexpensive accommodation and flights to the Gold Coast can be tricky to find during this time.
The Gold Coast's shoulder season lands between February to May, and September to early October. Considering that flights are inexpensive and the weather is beautifully temperate, these months are great for playing at Whitewater World or the Adrenaline Park, taking an Aqua Duck tour through Surfers Paradise, or viewing the city from the QDeck.
From June through August the Gold Coast sees its off season. The weather can be hot at this time, so many tourists flee the area in search of cooler climates. For those who like the heat, however, this is a good time to take part in the Gold Coast Tweed Winter Bowls Carnival, or take a tour through Tropical Fruit World.
