"LOCATION: This is the closest hotel fronting USJ, 2mins walk to the front gates. Considering our situation where we have a young kid and we want to get in line early, this is definitely the recommended option! Surrounding this hotel is a shopping plaza w/ restaurants, family mart(?) and the station. Very convenient. Actually all the hotels around here are just as convenient, but this hotel is definitely the closest. ROOM: Stayed at the "Standard City View Twin Room" Upon entering the room we have one immediate impression, it's very big for Japan-standards! It's a bit outdated but everything seemed clean. We got a complimentary upgrade to 3-beds (from 2-beds) w/o asking so that was really awesome! The AC controls were great and blackout curtains were effective. We had front view of the park too which was nice as one of the roller coasters come close to that side. We also were able to see how crowded it was in the morning before we left the room. SERVICE: No complaints here, all the ground staff we encountered were polite, professional, and spoke fluent English. We noticed that there was a staff standing in the middle of the floor looking around to see if anyone needs assistance or have questions. She helped us with our luggage hold and some of our questions; a very pleasant interaction! TIPS: The only thing to note is that they do not offer bottled-water. Instead there is a water fountain on each floor (?) where you can refill your bottle. STAY AGAIN?: Yes!"

"The Cross really is situated in the heart of the biz in Osaka's Dotonbari but it's still a peaceful stay. It's only a few stops away on the subway from JR Shin Osaka and to the hotel is easily walkable from Shinshaibashi."

They are nice and listen to your needs and they are available to go to your room. "Port Vita Hotel is a good option for USJ being close to the Universal Station rail station. Note that the Osaka airport limo-bus stops at the USJ main gate, which is maybe a 400 yard walk away. This is OK in fine weather but less so in a downpour/typhoon season. The front desk receptionist was outstanding accommodating our requests though. The family room we had was set out well and had all the space and facilities we needed with plenty of power outlets and USB ports. Buffet breakfast was great with a nice selection of relatively healthy offerings. The convenience store near the entrance turned out to be handy when we needed a snack late in the evening. Overall, we were very happy with the stay and would return."
