Our stay here was very special. The owners treat you like family, always smiling and accommodating. The hotel goes way back in history, and has been nicely renovated. Our room had a gorgeous view out to a hillside with a Tuscan villa and olive grove. And our dinner there was really special, with a phenomenal view of Florence and an orange sunset, several courses.
The hotel is on the crest of the hill at Fiesole, overlooking Florence. It's a beautiful location and the dining room and breakfast room take full advantage of the view. Our room was clean and comfortable, the food good. The staff was helpful with the usual (transportation, local guidance) but outstanding on a small dispute with a local business. They made two calls and got us reimbursement from the local business. All done with ease and friendliness. This is a grand old hotel, probably from the 19th c, and there is an atmosphere of faded elegance

This hotel is ideal if you want easy access for exploring Florence, but also need a a peaceful and pleasant haven for quiet relaxation. Its magnificent location, gives wonderful views of the hills and over Florence. We found no problems with cleanliness. In our experience, bites are more likely to be from flying insects than bedbugs, as you are in the countryside - but these weren't a major problem.
"Good hotel for students and couples not families"
The hotel has pretty basic furniture no tea/coffee making facilities and rather strange towels. The bed was very comfy. The room was clean and good value for money.A good location for exploring Florence as there is a regular bus into the city. Please be aware the owner does not accept credit cards so you need to have enough cash to pay for your stay. She also speaks no English so be prepared to learn some rudimentary Italian.
