Enjoyable visit to Amsterdam. Staff at the Hotel were very friendly. If you wanted breakfast then it was an extra 12.50 Euros which is quite expensive but there was a good choice and you could eat as much as you wanted. Hotel was a 5 minute walk to the station and 2 stops you were in Amsterdam central. If you did not want to venture into the centre of Amsterdam, then you could walk through the station and again a 5 minute walk to the shops and bars in Zaandam (think that's how you spell it).

Approach the hotel from the north along the sea wall - Edam end - not through the town. There is a barrier which opens 10 mins and closes 20 mins twice each hour each hour. Just wait at the barrier and watch the dial tick the time away until it opens.
Well, I was pleased with the hotels quiet location. It has a good sized car park. The rooms are comfortable. It is well worth the price.
The only disappointment which I did not know was, how far out of Amsterdam city centre it was itself. I tis not a walks away. You have to take public transport to get into the city.
Amazing little fisherman town, insane amounts of charm, and the cutest little hotel room that you've ever seen!!! If you're looking for something quick and convenient to Amsterdam, this hotel is about a 25 minute drive into the city. But after a busy day in the hustle and bustle of the excitement, it was nice to unwind while strolling down the village's cobblestone streets and popping in and out of the small shops.
HOWEVER......beware if you're planning to take your pets with you!!! Our black lab came along for the excursion and there wasn't ANY grass within a reasonable walking distance for a fellow that's trying REALLY hard to hold it :(
And I don't have children, but I would be cautious of visiting this area with very young children due to the number of canals that run through the town without barriers along the waterway!
