"This is an excellebt plot with enclosed garden, great with dogs and your own gate onto the beach. The views are stunning when the tide is in you are just several steps from getting into the sea, which is surprisingly blue and warmed up quickly on a sunny day. People were swimming in it in May although i think i would have wanted a short sleeved wet suit before making thd plunge. Lodge itself great, very well appointed...if going with dogs make sure to take towels as cream carpet a bit concerning with mucky paws. Great pub and shops within a 5 minute drive or approx 45 min walk. Overall hope to return soon and recommended to friends. Overall lovely"

"Arrived after 21.00 in readiness for a 05.30 start for the Cairnryan ferry (20 minutes drive away). Very warm welcome by friendly staff who rustled me up a sandwich even tho the kitchen was closed. Fantastic views, pet friendly, great value for money. Rooms and decor are a little tired but clean, tidy and comfortable. Recommended. Portpatrick a lovely small harbour town. "

"Staff were helpful and very polite and friendly. The hotel is basic with a straightforward menu but perfect for a stop over on the way to the ferry. Good breakfast, served promptly at our pre-ordered time. Found Newton Stewart a little down at heel, but we didn’t walk very far past the supermarket. "
