Only note, instructions say the key is at the back of the house where the parking is but the parking and the key holder is clearly at the front of the house - not sure how a simple instruction like this can be wrongly noted. "We stayed here for a short break with the family. We were greeted with a lovely welcome pack from the owners and was really impressed with the lodge. Its location was perfect for places to visit, we went to Bamburgh castle, Berwick, Alnwick gardens and Holy Island in the time we stayed. The accommodation was spacious, clean and warm on arrival, with the log burner as a welcome extra. We would definitely recommend for a family getaway and would stay again in the future."

Our party consisted of 3 adults, 2 children and 2 labradors and the property served us well! Plenty of room. "Fabulous cottage in a quiet setting. Airy and light & welcoming. Nice big dining kitchen with (more than!) everything we needed. View from sitting room over the hills was lovely. A great position to trek out from - so near to Cragside National Trust, which is a must! We also visited Wallington & Gibside NT & Holy Island. Thankyou for entrusting us with your home from home - we will definitely be back to explore more of this beautiful area."

"We were very disappointed with the dining room for dinner. The tables looked like a cheap cafe; we were served someone else’s order and I was given a soup spoon with my dessert. The young staff were willing, but not well-trained. Our room was very pleasant but the tap at the basin wobbled and the water in the shower was so hot we had to abandon having a shower because we couldn’t turn it down. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay and the grounds were stunning."
