About this property
Holy Island is just 5 minutes away from this superbly equipped cottage.
Seafarer Cottage is not only our holiday home, it's yours too, and it's important to us that you love it as much as we do.
Combining charm and character with comfortable modern living, the cottage is perfect for couples and families alike. We know how important WiFi is, so there's good connectivity throughout the house. Upstairs the two double bedrooms are light and airy, with comfortable double beds and essential but often overlooked touches such as mirrors close to sockets and a hairdryer in each bedroom. There is a TV in the master bedroom. With ample storage and views over to Holy Island, the this bedroom is particularly lovely. There is a good-sized family bathroom, with bath and shower attachment, washbasin, WC and plenty of cupboards.
Downstairs, we particularly love the kitchen diner, and our guests have commented on how much they've enjoyed spending time there. Whether you want to warm up a pizza, make cakes with the kids or cook a roast dinner, we've got everything you need. There's a fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washer-dryer, double oven, microwave and Lavazza coffee maker, so we hope you'll feel totally at home. There are ample pots and pans, crockery and cutlery, not forgetting plastic glasses for the little ones. The table seats 6, and there's a 32 inch TV too.
In the spacious hall, you'll find coat hooks and a shoe rack, placed close to the radiator so everything's nice and toasty. Off the hall there's a second bathroom, newly remodelled in February 2024 with a non-slip shower enclosure, basin unit with drawers and WC. The water supply to the shower is hot and powerful, so a good shower is always guaranteed. Next door is the single bedroom, with drawers, shelf and hanging space.
The living room is cosy and comfortable, with two good sized settees, throws for those cooler evenings, nest of tables, 55" Smart TV with HDMI and USB connectivity and a Blu-ray player.
Outside, there is ample parking on the gravel in front of the cottage, with a lot of the garden laid to lawn. There's a sunny paved patio area with a picnic table and a decked area with settee and coffee table for alfresco drinks and meals.
We know how hard it is to go on holiday without your furry friends, so well-behaved dogs are welcome, although please be aware that the garden is not enclosed.
The area is perfect for visiting the myriad historic, natural and cultural wonders of Northumberland, but particularly that most special of places, Holy Island. My late parents lived there, and the cottage is named after dad's boat, Seafarer. We hope that you will enjoy the magic of the Island as we have done over the years.
As we don't live locally, we're unfortunately not in a position to offer welcome packs. However, there will always be handwash, toilet roll, tea, coffee, sugar and dishwasher tablets there when you arrive. The Lindisfarne Inn is just next door, where the food is good, and there is a shop just a couple of minutes away, open until 10 pm. Tesco, Asda, the Co-op and Morrison's are just 10 minutes up the A1 in Berwick.
We hope to welcome you to Seafarer Cottage soon.

We were very pleased with the house, how much room there was, it's location and facilities. All was wonderful. We loved been so close to Holy Island and the other amazing beaches. Best part was we had a week of sunshine. Highly recommended this property.
We really enjoyed our stay at Seafarers Cottage and would highly recommend it. Very comfortable and cosy. Super location and the cottage contained everything we needed. We especially liked seeing the local hedgehog coming to visit every night!
Highly recommend, very comfortable, well equipped and ideally situated for exploring the coast. Holy Island, Berwick-upon-Tweed, Budle Bay, Embleton and Cocklawburn beaches. We used the excellent public transport to Alnwick then onto Amble. Would definately stay here again.
and ideally situated for our
Excellent accommodation, perfect for visits to The Holy Island, Berwick, Bamburgh, Alnwick and Newcastle..
Lindisfarne Inn next door for food and drink, Barn at Beal a short dander down the road..
Absolutely first class. Super property, very well equipped. Nothing we needed.Location was brilliant. A short drive to the best of Northumberland. The gas station shop was well stocked and so useful for bits and pieces. The Lindisfarne Inn is highly recommended
A comfortable holiday home with all the amenities one would need, that was conveniently loated for our week's holiday exploring the Northumberland coast and countryside.
The property allows dogs, which was a must for us.
Communication and check in was straighforward, and detailed information about the property and local attractions were provided.
I'd happily stay here again, thank you!
This is the second time we’ve stayed at Seafarer Cottage and it’s lovely. Great location, well equipped, comfy beds and excellent water pressure in the shower! There is some traffic noise from the A1 but it’s didn’t affect us sleeping. It’s lovely to have a sofa to sit on outside and internet to stream TV programmes with. Thank you, Julie, for a lovely stay!
Good location. Some traffic noise from A1 but didn’t bother us. Ideal for touring. Holy Island just 5 minutes down the road. Nice cafe The Barn en route. Friendly pub with nice food round the corner - The Lindisfarne Inn also petrol station with Londis shop. Cottage very comfortable with everything we needed
Very clean and comfortable property with everything we needed for our stay. Only one tiny picky point is it was a bit near the noise of the A1 but this did not detract from a great week
This is a lovely cottage that is very well appointed. There is everything you may need in the kitchen, making it very easy to self cater. You can see Lindisfarne Castle from the back windows! Super location. This was our 3rd visit and we will return

Superbly maintained lovely holiday house. Well equipped. Owners have thought of absolutely everything and more. Comfortable stay. You couldn’t ask for more. Clear instructions on everything. Very spacious, airy and light. Delightful, I would definitely recommend to others and stay there again. Can’t praise enough. Thank you for a lovely stay.
The kitchen was very well equipped. Plenty of good size pots and pans, a food processor, mini chopper etc. Cooking was easy with everything readily to hand. Only one towel provided per person for the week so I would suggest bringing spares as they can take a while to dry. The house is in a good location on the road leading out to Holy Island with a nice outdoor space. Fuel station in close proximity. Sadly we were cut off for a planned power outage, however the property owner was unaware and kindly offered us a partial refund. It was a very enjoyable stay. The only negative for us was the amount of dog hair on the carpet and the smell of dog when the house was warm. A quick blitz with a carpet cleaner would be marvellous. Thank-you for hosting us!
