"This is probably the worst hotel I've ever stayed. Check in was delayed for over 1h30m, just because the room was not cleaned as it should've to allow check-in at 2pm. So lack of lroper planning here. The room itself was isolated from the noise outside but you could hear everything inside, no sound proof whatsoever. Every single floorboard in the floor was loose and the screaky noise was too much. To go to the bathroom (which was properly cleaned every day) there is a high step as somehow the floor was raised, making it an accident in waiting. At check out we asked if we could leave our backpacks and the receptionist told us to use the paid lockers. This is outrageous as never been asked this in any other hotel in the world.! And the minimum they could've done after such a late check in. And by the way not mentioned in any hotel description but this hotel is on the 3rd floor of a building, though it does have a modern lift."

"A really reallly nice hostel, each bed had its own lights and outlets. The cafe/lounge is very nice and breakfast is worth the 8 euro. Only downside is that noise travels quite easily through the building and there was a large group of teenagers having quite a lot of fun late into the night lol. Otherwise a great stay, staff are knowledgeable about the area and gave some good recommendations on pintxos. Also if you end up using the laundry... leave your clothes in the dryer for at least 2 hours"

"The hotel is beautifully decorated throughout with great amenities.There is an option of having breakfast there and we definitely recommend giving it a try. For us the hotel's greatest assets are it's staff members. Each of them is friendly and professional and goes above and beyond what we have experienced in other hotels. We thoroughly recommend this hotel for a stay when visiting Bilbao."

"This pension is in a perfect location. It is in the heart of the old town and all public transport is nearby. It is neat and furbished in a Scandi style. However, I only realised after I payed that this pension operates completely online - there is no human being for check in, everything is online. A few hours before you may check in, they send you an access code via whatsapp or email. However, this lack of any human being is not always so smooth, although they do respond on whatsapp if there is a problem. The first is that they do not allow you to leave your bags after check in. They also run a baggage locker business where you can drop your bags (also only online) but it is not free. Second, when I quickly left the pension and wanted to go back in to retrieve my luggage at 11h45 (check out was set for 12h00), the online system already locked me out of the building! This was BEFORE the check out time. I had to plead with some residents to please use my phone to call them on whatsapp to let me back in, just to get out my bags. Although they called me back to check, and they have another pension in the old town, I wonder what would have happened if my esim did not work or there was a problem with my phone. In future if i stay somewhere I will make sure there is some human presence. The other pension I stayed in Bilbao has someone at reception at least in the afternoons and this helped a lot."
