This is by far my best hotel experience in NYC and the location is superb. We went to celebrate my mom's birthday and they provided us with everything we asked for. They gave my mom a pleasant surprise with the birthday cake and flowers that I ordered, and delivery timing was perfect! Rooms are reasonably spacious (you know NYC hotels...), very clean and comfortable. Highly recommended.

The hotel is really lovely. It is a great location and very close to lots of places to eat. Not far from anywhere really, Times square is a 10 minute walk.
We had a couple of cleanliness issues but nothing major (a hair in the bath and a dirty window)

We could not fault this hotel. All staff were very helpfull, approachable and friendly at all times.
In particular the Concierge service was first class.
Rooms were of a very high standard.

The Surrey Hotel is in a very good position; near Central Park just off 5th Avenue and in the quieter Upper East Side. Our room was extremely confortable with every amenity and kept to a high standard of cleanliness and comfort. Although the hotel was very busy you were totally unaware of adjacent guests. There was the occasional early morning street noise but not excessive over which the hotel had no control. We didn't eat in the dining room at night but enjoyed excellent breakfasts every monring. The hotel has a very lifely bar which attracted lots of other people as well as hotel guests.
The hotel is close to the subway on 77 street and also buses running down 5th Avenue. We used both to explore Manhattan. The hotel is within walking distance of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and many other interesting museums and art galleries. My wife and I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to visitors to NY.

Finally, a hotel that is actually inside the Fifth Ave's inner ring, not like other 5th ave hotel like Langham.
When I got here the hotel is on renovation so it doesnt look as glamorous.
Some staffs were super friendly while the others were simply snobby just because they have St. Regis banner behind them.

Fantastic 5 day's spent in the 'Big Apple' most of the major tourist sites visited Statue Of Liberty, Ground Zero, Empire Estate, Grand Central Station, Macey's, Central Park, China Town, Little Italy & lots more in between, with great weather to boot.
Great food, friendly people in general, a perfect short break...............a place everyone should visit at least once in their lives and when they do stay at the Ritz Carlton, Battery Park. Even the most critical of people of which I am one of them would struggle to find fault with this hotel every effort was made to make you feel welcome & if anyone is worried as I was regarding the tipping etiquette in the States don't be the service was so good all round I wanted to tip these guy's rather than feeling obliged to tip.
Although the hotel is situated in the south side of New York there is loads to see & do in the area & 2 main line underground stations, walking distance to take you anywhere you want to go in the City. If in doubt speak to the concierge & they will point you in the right direction.
It was nice to get back to the hotel late afternoon / evening away from the hustle & bustle of some of the busier area's of the city & breath a sigh of relief.
Should have visited a few day's later to take in the full Halloween celebrations on the 31st of Oct & would advise anyone if they are visiting at that time get over to Greenwich Village & join in the celebrations!!
