I was hesitant about going to this hotel because we generally prefer the personalized service of a small boutique hotel and this one seemed quite grand. However, upon arrival and throughout our stay, I was pleasantly surprised that we received the personalized service and general feel of a smaller hotel.
The rooms are very spacious unlike many hotel rooms in NYC. The bathrooms are modern, also spacious, clean and there is tons of counter space which we appreciate. The bed was so comfortable, we got a great night's rest. Staff/Room Service was excellent as well as the concierges - very helpful and friendly.
Usually, when away, we miss our bed & shower at home and are usually ready to go at the end of our stay but this time, I feel that I would have extended my stay if I could.

Stayed at the Mark based on the reviews and we were not disappointed. Less than a block from the park. Staff were very helpful in every regard. The service is outstanding as is the comfort of the rooms. We had only one borderline experience with slow service in the restaurant for breakfast. We will be coming back to New York on a regular basis and plan to make the Mark our New York hotel!

My daughter and I decided to have the trip of a lifetime to New York following my retirement. We stayed at the Refinery Hotel for 4 nights and we were extremely glad that we had chosen this wonderful hotel. It's location was ideal, located between 5th and 6th Avenue within comfortable walking distance to Times Square, Rockerfeller Centre, Macy's and a lot of other wonderful shops along Fifth Avenue.
We did use a lot of taxis as walking for longer periods was an issue for me, this does take quite a lot of money but well worth it in our circumstances. We visited all the well known New York landmarks and found that an early start helped a lot with the queus and the amount of people - we were at the Empire State Building as they opened at 08.00 a.m. Similarily Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island and Top of the Rock.
We had wonderful meals in a lot of special restaurants but the two that stood out were Gallagher's steak house in the Broadway area and The Boathouse in Central Park where we were fortunate in experiencing exceptionally warm weather and we enjoyec lunch overlooking the lake.
A wonderful night at the theatr watching Jersey Boys was also a highlight which we'll never forget.
Back to the wonderful Refinery Hotel, we were so glad that we had chosen a boutique hotel and not one of the much larger establishments that New York is well known for. The staff couldn't do enough for you and service was world class - actually made our holiday.

The Trump was everything I had hoped for and did not believe could be possible. The hotel itself is a class act with the staff first rate. I was blown away by the little extras - electric curtains and blinds, a bed side control that switches everything off or on - including opening and shutting curtains. The bathroom amenities were first rate and the size of the whole room plus the HUGE bathroom with two basin setup for two people was fantastic. I can highly recommend this hotel for anyone wanting a 5+ star hotel that is in a street with lots of fabulous restaurants and top grade shops and art galleries.
