"The old saying "You get what you pay for" is true"
This mid-Manhattan hotel is perfectly located for fine restaurants, theater, high-end shopping, and a pleasant walk to Central Park. Ask for a city-view room or you might be looking at a brick wall across what seemed to be some kind of courtyard.
The staff here are a class act and go out of their way to accommodate. If your wallet will allow, take the whole package which includes the Terrace (23rd floor). The Terrace starts your day at 7:00 a.m. with freshly-brewed coffee (or tea or hot chocolate), an assortment of breakfast pastries, bagels, or croissants, cream cheese, honey, smoked salmon, etc.. Afternoon tea offers various sweets, with tea, coffee, or milk. The evening hours bring an assortment of wines, cold meats with the appropriate condiments, cheeses, fruit, and an assortment of breads of rolls. For a tired traveler, the combination of sustenance, the best bed I have ever slept in, and all the in-room amenities is unbeatable.
