Perth Hills Fishing Holidays

I stayed for work, wanting to be near the train station to commute to Crown for a convention and attend meetings in the CBD and UWA precinct. Alex Hotel had been recommended by friends, and this was indeed a good location, clean with helpful and very friendly staff. I had been put off previously by the room rates, but it was low season and there was a discount through Expedia this time. However this is not for a business traveller and certainly not a place that I feel like I would stay if I was on holiday (except for maybe one night en route to somewhere else). Room was very basic (no chair, desk), iron/ironing boards were shared for each floor, complimentary tea/coffee was available but on Level 1. I understand breakfast at a home is expensive, but this seemed steep. In all, these things I can live with. The major issue was the noise. I understand that this is in Northbridge and I know what this place is about (I had a uni job at The Deen nightclub nearby). Bass from Universal Bar persisted well after midnight. The clubs are not going anywhere, but I did expect noise-proofing, and not having to rely on complimentary ear plugs. I had a "Slumber" room, and I am fairly certain the noise was not disclosed as an issue. I don't think I can justify the room rate, even with the discount. Stay here if you're keen for a big night out with your mates, but its not exactly a romantic getaway or suitable as a place to base yourself for extended business trips.

Bed was very comfortable, roof top bar has a good vibe, would definitely stay here again.

Excellent restaurant quality and great staff. Easy parking, great location. The room wasn't vacuumed properly this time, but all other times it was great. It would be nice if the gym had a water fountain or any sort of water. Room service operation times are limited. I would enjoy breakfast room service too. The front desk staff was super nice and carried our luggage into the room. Thank you

Nice to have washer and dryer in the room for my laundry. Close to park, across the street, long walk to downtown.

This was a very pleasant hotel and well located! My only problem is they don’t take cash and after all the aud is our country’s currency! If you don’t accept cash which is wrong you shouldn’t be charging to use a debit: credit card!
