"Excellent hotel, lovely location right by the main square and cathedral. Staff very friendly and helpful, loved the cold water stations on each floor. They do use foam mattresses, which my partner hates as they give him back ache, we did ask for a change but it wasn’t possible. Providing a mattress topper would have helped."

"A remarkable little gem of a hotel in Haarlem. The history of the building just adds to the charm and I really appreciated the history lesson while checking in. The original ceiling painting in the reception/breakfast area is beautiful. They’ve done a great job of modernizing the building while maintaining the charm. Do realize that you’re staying in an almost 400 year old building so there are some quirks with stairs but there is a lift to deal with most of those."

"If you plan on staying here, I’m gonna give you a couple of pieces of advice. Look for Vester restaurant because the hotel and restaurant are in the same building. I wish I knew this information because going there. The check in and out is done with the servers of the restaurant too. All the staff are very helpful and nice."

"The room was clean. The beds are comfortable and you don't hear other people. The staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating when we asked if we could store our things for a few hours after checkout. The road is a little noisy when the window is open but you can use the aircon to keep the room cool. The window also has an outside blind which can be put down. Short distance to Haarlem centre."

"We loved the location, and the bed situation was perfect for our family of 5–one queen, a bunk bed, and a single. The shower wall didn’t keep the water contained to the shower, and the bathroom floor was usually wet. We could hear some conversations from the street below at night, but mostly we were so tired it didn’t matter. The room was pretty clean, but when I was looking for something I had dropped, I saw lots of dust under the beds. We loved Haarlem and would stay there again!"
