"When we arrived the rescue potion staff were very helpful and friendly. We didn’t use many of the amenities such as breakfast, the pool etc the staff in the lounge and bar again were very friendly. The bedroom and particularly the bathroom and shower were exceptionally clean and very large for a hotel, very impressed. The hotel internally is beautiful and a pleasure to walk around, in particular the staircase and corridor leading to the bar. Would definitely stay there again when next we visit, and would recommend to anyone asking"

"Great location, breakfast was brilliant and staff were good. The property needs some TLC as it was a bit tired and the bathroom in our room could have been a bit bigger. "

"The reception team were welcoming; as soon as we got to our room the door didn't lock properly, for security purposes we were able to move. The rooms are spacious and basic however I didn't get much sleep. The pillows were lumpy and thin, we both had issues with them. The bed linen was torn and bed rest was stained so I cleaned it myself and overall it was very meh and missing a simple once-over a room needs. We had an issue two mornings in a row with loud noise (sounded like stomping or something loud moving back and forth over the bedroom area starting around 5-6am). First evening, didn't seem like the receptionist wanted to do much about it, second morning we contacted reception but it continued and reception didn't respond, resulting in us leaving earlier than expected. It's not the best roomzzz I've stayed at especially as the last made a little effort for my partner's birthday trip and this one being mine, there wasn't anything special but it's worth a try based on the location and parking only. Overall unfortunately, I'd never stay here again or recommend it."

"The ibis hotel in York was in a good location, within walking distance to everything. The hotel was very quiet and the rooms were nicely updated and well kept. The staff at the front desk were great and very helpful. I didn't us the breakfast so cannot comment on that. "
