"We loved being so close the the water, only steps away. The use of the canone and kayaks were a great way to explore. The cabin was big enough for our family with plenty of room on the screened porch. There are a few holes in the screen, allowing mosquitoes to come in. We saw loons, dear and a bald eagle which was exciting. My only concern was the cameras outside and the ring door camera. We felt like our coming and going were being monitored by the owners."

"Just a short drive from home for us, but our out of state family thoroughly enjoyed the property. The dock for boats is great, unable to back a boat trailer in so had to use the dam landing... not a big deal. all the rooms were comfy and just had a great week"

Escape to Bear Cove: Your Cozy Lakeside Getaway on Meddybemps Lake! 🌲🏞️

10/10 Excellent
"This house is a lovely little getaway spot. It is right on the lake, with beautiful views, tons of comfy couches a chairs, and a really nice fire pit and outdoor lights, Even in the middle of summer, it was very quiet on the lake, and that made for a very peaceful, restful getaway. The host is very pet friendly, and let us bring two dogs with us, which was really nice! They also had a kayak and paddle that we were able to use to take out on the lake. The only downside was that the beds were extremely soft, which was not the most comfortable for some of us. But otherwise, the stay was absolutely wonderful, and I would definitely stay here again in the future!"

Pet Friendly Waterfront home- Kayaks, Game Room, Playset, toddler area & office

10/10 Excellent
"Our family enjoyed 6 nights at this spacious, well-appointed house. Positives included: incredibly well-stocked kitchen, lots of towels, cozy throw blankets for cool mornings, fresh flowers in many rooms, and great breezes. When my husband messaged to ask if there were binoculars for birdwatching, the host quickly arranged to buy a pair for the house that we could pick up at Walmart. Having Walmart nearby also made grocery shopping for the week super easy. Some things to consider: it was more difficult to kayak on the river than we anticipated and it is too bad to dealership across the road detracts from the night sky. The water usage limitations can be stressful with teenagers and we were limited in our ability to wash clothes mid-week. I loved the breezy, open windows (no need for AC), but forgot to consider how it might impact those of us with allergies. Thankfully we were very minimally impacted by smoke from the wildfires in Canada.Favorites: We enjoyed an afternoon trip to Eastport for "shopping" and a second day trip to Lubec, Quoddy Head State Park, and Mowry Beach. We got up early a few mornings and took a kayak to Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge where my son caught several bass and pickerel and two of us were lucky enough to see two moose."
