The hotel, pub was absolutely perfect. The staff were excellent especially Tarik excuse me if not spelt correctly.
All staff were extremely attentive.
Room was so cozy, a little in the warm side but we didn’t see the thermostat as slightly hidden.
We ate at the pub on Friday, food, drinks all excellent.
Breakfast was fresh and hot.
We will definitely be back.
Great little getaway. We stayed overnight, and had dinner in the restaurant. The food was great, and the staff were fantastic. Close to Winchester, but far enough to have a real countryside vibe!
Really lovely place. Staff were superb, breakfast was great. Room was great, but there were a few areas that could do with a spruce up. Overall though really happy and would definitely stay again…
Last minute booking and a great find. Room was charming and had everything we needed. Dinner was decent and breakfast was super. Really friendly staff throughout. We'll be back
We expected some noise as it’s a pub but the door slamming and constant noise from the beer garden was disappointing. Staff were very nice and the food was fantastic.

The staff were exceptional, and went above and beyond to look after us. Our room was above the bar and kitchen which was very noisy and hot. They moved us to a quieter room for our next night immediately. The food and atmosphere was great. I would recommend to others to stay there. A special mention to Sam!
Wanted to check in late as coming from a wedding and was told the latest check in was 11, slight inconvenience .
Room was very tired, broken shower door, smelly drains, peeling wallpaper, creaky floorboards, warm cold water tap, black mould above the shower.
Full English breakfast and teas included, very average as bacon and sausage overcooked.
The reviews and website did a lot of heavy lifting for this property which badly needs work and was massively overpriced at £150 for the night.

Excellent staff and good bar & dining, rooms not so
The ground floor bar and dining area are good with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and a great welcome by staff - I couldn't fault it at all. The place is easy to find and well positioned too with a lovely outdoor area to relax. However, the decor (carpets and general decoration) is in urgent need of being refreshed. The carpets were stained and threadbare in places. Plus the upstairs area / rooms were rather grubby and needed a good clean. That said, the facilities were very good, a comfortable bed with clean and good quality bed linen and the selection of fluffy towels etc was fine. Norbert was wonderful and ensured a good stay otherwise with a good breakfast.
Room was disappointing, paint peeling off the wall , room was above the kitchen so woken up very early with the noise from below. Room was very hot - window opened onto a flat roof so not safe to leave open as could be accessible . Food was disappointing . Wasn’t asked how my stay was at checkout ….. poor value for money ( totally over priced for what it is )

Overnight Stay
Slightly disappointed with our stay , quaint local pub in the village , staff were superb, there was a mix up on arrival as we had booked a 3 person room and we had been allocated a 2 person room. They did suggest putting a mattress on the floor which was not acceptable as our son has steel rods in his back, but one 3 person room had not checked in so the manager switched the booking to that one and after a further delay of an hour we checked in.
Didn't really sleep that well as the bed was noisy and heavily worn and then in the morning we waited an hour for breakfast after ordering which was far too long and they were severely understaffed... I actually felt sorry for them and the housekeeper helped out as the poor lad was on his own.
Rooms a bit tatty now, and as I said above the bed was soft and heavily worn squeaking away with every movement and TVs didn't work very well. One didn't work at all.
What staff did work there were very supportive of the business but the site needs investment now and the rooms need a makeover with new beds.
Unfortunately we will not be rebooking in the future which is a pity.

Some good points, but several disappointments.
The listing and the property's own website suggested something quite special, but the reality was a fairly basic and tired pub very much in need of some refurbishment. Kitchen closes at 8.05pm, not 9.00pm as advertised.on their website.
Room cleaning / servicing during the stay was completely non-existent and despite asking for missing items to be provided in the room absolutely nothing was done, despite being carefully noted down by a member of the bar staff. No TV remote so TV was unusable.
Tired and shabby decor with peeling paintwork and scratched furniture. No storage space of any kind in the ensuite bathroom and poor lighting by the shower. Stair carpet badly worn and not vacuumed in three days, the same dead leaves were on the floor for our entire stay. Very customer toilets, not clean.
On the plus side the service staff were friendly and helpful and the food andwas good, despite being overpriced
Lovely quiet room, friendly staff and excellent breakfast!

Staff were so welcoming and friendly. Rooms we very clean and comfortable, also well catered for our dog.
Hotel looked and felt very festive and.cosy with stylish Christmas decorations.
We visited the Christmas markets in town which was only a 10 min drive away.
Hotel based in a lovely village away from hustle of town. Would recommend
Lovely room, very clean, warm friendly approachable staff who go above and beyond to make you feel welcome nothing appears to be too much thank you so much
