Special finds (7 Tubs Park, Kirby Center, Kirby Park, Breaker Brewing, Benny Brewing and Julie's Cozy Cafe). It has historical features and neat architecture, but the town overall appears to not be not doing well with rundown neighborhoods.

I'm local but lived away many years, & have a combined loving/less-loving relationship with my hometown. Like any declining NE US small city, down to earth real people but increasing big city crime and decay. But some culture slowly returning! 👍

Wilkes-Bare as a whole is alright. Plenty of dining and shopping options. Much better lodging choices available locally.

This location is in a good part of Wilkes-Barre. Convenient to highways. Seemed safe, well lit parking lot, provided carts to bring our bags in/out of hotel. Great pizza - try Shandra's in nearby Pittston, PA. Poconos is not far to visit.

Nice middle Pennsylvania city. Used this town as a way station for years and never before had a bad experience.
"Property was clean and comfortable. The pillows were only two per bed (some people like more) and very flat. Otherwise beds firm but comfortable. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. "
"Travelling to move my mother-in-law. This room allowed us to be together since she was nervous about travelling BUT allowed us a somewhat seperate space. We put her in the bedroom space and used the sleeper sofa living room area for ourselves. Breakfast the next morning was also great."
"Bed linen is not as pictured. We got a room that had no towels in it. Managed to get some finally after the 2nd request. The bathroom looks old and is kinda dirty. Writing on the walls. The breakfast staff is very nice and friendly and accommodating! Other than the bathroom and bed linens the room is decent! Just don’t go based off pictures cuz that’s not what you’re getting. "
