Top Whitby Museum Hotel Reviews
Royal Whitby
10/10 Excellent
"I would advise anyone coming by car to prebook car parking as the car park has limited parking"
Penny Hedge, Whitby by Marston's Inns
8/10 Good
"A good inexpensive clean hotel that is able to offer reasonable provisions for family rooms. Helpful staff and a good child menu offer. The wait time for food with young children was a bit of a challenge but otherwise a pleasant stay. Great place to visit."
Broomfield House
10/10 Excellent
"The location of Broomfield is excellent, 5 minutes walk from the train and bus stations and the town centre. Our room was stunning, lots of space, immaculately clean and our hosts were very friendly and helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend a stay and if we're back in Whitby we will be booking in."
The Beaches Guest House
10/10 Excellent
"Beaches guest house is situated on the west cliff which is very convenient to get into town and also visit the beach. Once you are in town, in doesn’t take long to cross the bridge and visit the abbey. It’s on street parking only, but we have been coming for years and always manage to get a spot. Tamsin, the owner, is always there when you arrive with a friendly smile and a chat. The rooms are a good size and very clean. The breakfast is great, with plenty of choice. Also, very reasonably priced. Most importantly, the Beaches is dog friendly! Well behaved dogs are always welcome."
Saxonville Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Just a relaxing weekend stay, lovely hotel, booked a single room, but would have liked 2 or larger bath towels, also missed a fridge and iron/ing board. That's where the grumble ends. Lovely hotel, lovely room, lovely staff. Breakfast is something else, full waitress service. Didn't book any other meals, but would recommend if time pressured. Could not fault service or room quality and cleanliness. Thanks team, lovely stay."

"It's OK"
Elford House - Whitby
10/10 Excellent
"The Elford room was large and comfortable with a sofa and table with chairs. The bed was comfortable. Whilst this is one of the modern self access sites there was sufficient beverage condiments, and a fridge, to allow a decent start to the day followed by a walk to one of the recommended cafes for breakfast. The shower was strong and easily controlled with good quality soft towels. We'll definitely look favourably if/when we return to Whitby."
Thistlebank Townhouse
8/10 Good
"The location and having car parking is really good. The house has a lot of history and is really quirky. Lots of space - in both the house, our bedroom and the bathroom. There were a few little missing touches that would have made our stay even better: - although there is a cupboard and large set of drawers for clothes there were no coat hangers - there was nowhere to hang the hand towels in the bathroom. We had to just place them on the window sill - there is a small common room with 4 table top fridges and facilities for guests to make breakfast etc. We assumed that the fridges were allocated individually for each bedroom but this was not clear and there was already milk / food in all the fridges. It would be better if the fridges were numbered / identified and clearly allocated to individual rooms - there was no guest information in the bedroom so we had to make assumptions - the accommodation does have wifi but we didn’t find the login details till we were leaving. The details are in the lobby / hallway but the host did not tell us that"
The Dolphin
8/10 Good
"We were in room one large, spacious and clean with a good view over harbour and bridge. Good shower over bath with rubber safety mat and instant hot water. Two wardrobes with enough coat hangers. A small fridge would be very beneficial in each room (only six rooms). Although a small fridge is located on landing between floors one and two with a carton of milk supplied by hotel, we found it out of date and starting to go off. A very good breakfast with very, very good service the ex-RN who served us couldn’t do enough to ensure we enjoyed our four nights stay. Thanks we will return. ********"
