The most famous street in Pattaya is the place to go for great food or a night out on the town.

With its dazzling neon lights, its beating music, and the girls inviting you in to the bars along the strip, Walking Street is a unique spectacle in its own right, drawing visitors from all over the world and bringing them to the party.

By day, stop off here for some delicious fresh seafood, or to see what’s on offer from the street vendors, who sell dishes such as traditional pad thai or more exotic dishes like fried grasshopper or silkworm. Come nightfall however, there is a whole world of entertainment on offer, whether it’s a seat at an intense Thai boxing match or dancing all night at one of the local nightclubs. And of course, there are the cabaret and go-go shows if you’re looking for something a little more risqué.

Stretching nearly two kilometres, this road is known all across Asia as one of the most exciting and energetic party destinations you’ll find in the entire hemisphere. It has given Pattaya the reputation it truly deserves to this day, and one that continues in the plethora of restaurants, bars, nightclubs and massage parlours that line the street.

Waking Street is at its most raucous between dusk and dawn, when the revellers turn up to make the most of the night-time fun to be enjoyed here. The street is closed to traffic from the early evening until the early hours of the morning, though many of the nightclubs you’ll find here only really come to life after midnight.

Of course, as with most places with a reputation as a party destination, there have been a few incidents here. Beware of pickpockets as well as scammers who will entice you into bars or take you in taxis before overcharging you for the privilege. Make sure you’re always aware of your surroundings, and communicate clearly to avoid getting into any trouble.

Parking spaces are available at the south side of Walking Street. Alternatively, there are taxis and scooters waiting at both ends which will transport you back to your hotel.
