Birthday celebration

We stay for one night ,everything ok Only fan was not strong enough Bed were comfotable but bit small We enjoy breakfast and 2 hours free access to pool ,saunas ,jacuzzi .

Bed very comfy, floorboards very creaky, very long wait for food at both dinner time and breakfast but nicely presented and hot when it arrived. Staff very friendly and the tot tubs in the spa were lovely.

Extra cost for spa facilities.

Excellent rooms. The only downside was the spa facilities was not included in the price except between 7am to 9am it was an extra £20 to £30 per a person at all other time which i thought let down the hotel. I would of not booked it if i knew there was an extra cost.

A home from home

Genuinely one of the best hotel stays we've ever had. We took my mum away for a spa weekend here and we loved it so much we spent all our trip here, including having every meal in the lovely restaurant. The customer service was absolutely superb and it really made it feel like a home from home.

Following some early confusion with my booking which was my own fault. The Duty Manager was quick to resolve this, which I was very grateful for. All staff and the facilities are excellent and well recommended.

Brilliant break

After a heavy downpour just after our arrival, our room ceiling sprang a leak and we had to move room but the staff were brilliant ensuring we still had a great stay. The views were lovely around the lake and we had a great round of golf on this interesting course which was in excellent condition. Breakfast was good and we enjoyed the tapas from Charlie’s bar. Thanks to Chris and his team.

Disappointing stay with poor service

Sadly throughout the stay as I was on my own and not with the bigger groups I was left, forgotten to take an order and information provided not as would have hoped for. Disappointing stay and won’t be staying again

Walton Hall continues to be a beautiful location for our stay in Wakefield to visit family. Breathtakingly stunning views and a friendly Yorkshire welcome. However, the choice of menu in Charlies Bar is not as good as prior visits nor was the quality of the food. During previous visits i was able to have skimmed milk for my drinks but that proved a step too far this time. Cutting back on wasteful practices is a great idea in this economic climate but please do not compromise on that special attention to detail.

Nice location

Nice friendly staff free parking nice room clean and tidy was small room nice dinner and breakfast went to use the swimming after breakfast was told by staff your too late after 9.30am you have to pay £25 to use the facilities how ridiculous you as a, quest can come free before 9.30am bad communication from front reception didn't tell me about the charges or about the leisure facilities policys not good customer services between the hotel staff I felt I have been cheated out of paying very good money at the hotel for a small room and than been told to pay for lesuire facilities on the day not mentioned anywhere when I booked my hotel this the reason I booked it with lesuire facilities to use unfortunately got turned away from staff very emotional aleast they could have saus on this occasion please use it and either make a policy to pay or not to pay and nothing mentioned on the card about charges.

Disappointing Expense!

Not really sure how it's 4 star. Walton Hall is beautiful on the outside, dated and foisty on the inside. Room 19 - top of stairs, smells like an old people residential home, door entry troublesome, phone didn't work, bathroom needs totally replacing, furniture old and marked. Windows need sorting, left open by cleaner and came back to a fully infestation. Food a real let down, the menu is limited with weird choices, chef unwilling to accommodate any requests. Breakfast choice good, execution by chef poor - burnt toast served under salmon and eggs unacceptable The only saving grace here is the staff, the are definitely the only asset here.
