Perfect position in the city center, but also calm and nice. Perfect service, very good breakfast in the winter garden.

Great spot in the center of the city. Great walking distance from most things of interest. Was a little rough with no AC with every day being 90 degrees F but still managed

Nice stay after initial issue
Want to start with the positives. Location is great, the 2 bedroom apartment we had had a small kitchen allowing us to cook some basic dinners and do breakfast in the morning. The rooms were very clean and decent amount of space in the bedrooms and bathrooms. Would recommend asking for a top floor room in the summer - these have Velux style windows with exterior black out blinds meaning no light comes in which is much better for sleeping and helps keep the temperature lower. We had this for our first night and really noticed a difference to the 2nd floor room we were moved to (although fans were provided in both rooms which was good). However the main reason for a mediocre rating was because upon check in we'd been downgraded to a 3 person studio as they had allocated our room to some other guests who wanted their 3 rooms next to each other. That evening we were told we could keep the room until the next night before changing (as was planning to be out for the whole day exploring Vienna) however the following morning we were told by the manager we had to check out that morning. That meant a rush to pack up before needing to be out for a pre-booked acitivty that morning. I was happy with how the property dealt with it in the end brining about a refund for the first nights stay and after that all was good.

Great property in the a very good location. Amazing, inexpensive breakfast. Wonderful stuff. The only minus is no AC, but fans were provided for each bedroom.

Apartment was large, modern and clean. It was in a great location 2 mins walk from The Albertina Gallery and very close to shops/restaurants. My only criticism is that there was no aircon and we were there on very hot days, they do provide fans though.

Great place to stay

Nothing to be desired
The property is very clean and stylish apartment. (I think the real property is even better than the photos in their ad.) Location is fantastic - it's just a 30m off from high street, and also very close to the Stephenplatz (a few stations from central station) and also close to the main tourist attraction! Breakfast buffet is also very nice.

This hotel is on a quiet side street right at center of Vienna, close to Stephanplatz. Rooms are very spacious and very clean, Staff are friendly and speak English well. Laundry facility is very convenient, 4 Euro for washer, 4 Euro for dryer. The only downside is that there is no air conditioning, but they put plenty standing fans in the apartment. Overall excellent apartment for stay in Vienna!

Beautiful place. Excellent breakfast (and not expensive); highly recommended. We had a two-bedroom apartment (double/doubel). The rooms were larger than expected and it has a large common area and even larger bathroom. The location is great, very close to the main attractions (St. Stephen's Cathedral, Opera House, Hofburg palace, etc). The only negative issue was the lack of air conditioner. We got extremely hot days (92-93 maximum) and the nights were a little uncomfortable (the provided fans, though). I understand that we had an unusual heat wave, so perhaps A/C is not needed more than few days a year, but we encountered these days.

The hotel was a fantastic location. Super clean and comfortable. Only complaint was that nothing said you had to reserve parking before your stay. But the alternative parking ramp was only down a few blocks and was great. Nothing horrible about this place!!

Great location. Wonderful stay.
Very interesting history of the building. Great courtyard. Rooms well designed and comfortable. Loved the upper floor room kitchenette. Great location. Very helpful staff. Only complaint is that the early check in charge is per person so with three of us that made the room more expensive

Did not know until we got there that this used to be an abbey. Now it is used as dormitories for the music school next door. Thats why the Wifi was EXCELLENT because the students need to use it during the school year. All of the rooms are decorated with Ikea furniture. The place was very clean, rooms were very large and comfortable for a family of 5. The location was also close to the hop on hop off bus, but a little far from the train station. We ended up using uber from the train station to the hotel. Although it was not air conditioned, it was comfortable with the windows open and fans.

Convenient location
Located just a short distance from shopping and various must-see sights. Hotel is quite basic and has limited housekeeping, but that also gives the guests more privacy. The place is clean and quiet, and the staff is very helpful. I would definitely stay there again.

Its actually a monastery converted into a hostel. Its not really a hotel. But very well renovated and very clean. The staff though just one, is very helpful. The only drawback is no aircon. Other than that great value for money. Go for it

Hello Rajesh, Thank you for your kind review! You are right, the building was a former monastery. After complete renovation we opened in 2014. The building is a historic building, because of this there is no airconditon in the rooms. Since we don't offer shared dorm rooms in Johannesgasse Apartments I would not consider us to be a hostel. Veldig praktisk beliggenhet.
Jeg ble overrasket over at det lå så midt i smørøyet. Rett ved hovedgaten og gangavstand til det meste. Stedet har litt «hostellfølelse» men rent og pent og bra plass for meg og mine to voksne døtre. Vi hadde to soverom og et bad. Ikke spesielt luksus men det man trenger for overnatting. Kunne vært koselig med noen bilder på veggene. Hyggelig betjening i resepsjonen.

Bâtisse historique originale. Petite chambre fonctionnelle, mais lit en coin moyennement confortable et sans air climatisée (ventilateur fourni). Salle de bain de belle dimension. Petit déjeuner excellent et frais! Stationnement plutôt dispendieux, très limité et étroit. Bon service. Au cœur du centre-ville, près de tout : magasinage, restaurants, lieux touristiques.
