We did ask about getting a different room that wasn't on the first floor in a dark corner...but the room was so cute we eventually didn't care. But if you book with a third party -- such as Expedia -- they won't upgrade or accommodate requests. "

"I checked in at 3PM Friday, placed our luggage and things in the room, then went out to dinner. I got back to find my door open, a plumber with a work table in the entrance, and the plumber was in the middle of replacing a faucet. This was my honeymoon and after a romantic dinner, we walked into this. I was upgraded to a suite, but it was actually a downgrade. I had chosen my original room because it had a balcony, table, and chairs facing the beach and would had a great view of the sunset. The suite's sofas were filthy, stained, and worn out. The view was worse, it was of the roof and AC units. Breakfast was overpriced for how simple and cheap the food was. Eggs sausage and potatoes. Pay to park in their own parking lot was tacky and cheap. Will not return. "
