There was not a beach view from our room. There was also significant building work going on right next to our room, but it was at another property. The beach location from the hotel was excellent, walk straight onto it. The breakfast was flexible with a number of choices. The staff were good and helpful.

We stayed a night in September 2025 at the Happy Banana Hotel in Galle (Unawatuna), Sri Lanka. Due to plumbing works, water supply was off for a while. However, the living was homely, night music and people’s crowd was entertaining, and breakfast at the beach was astounding.
Two choices of breakfast were available- Western and Sri Lankan
The beach is adjacent to the hotel. Staff would help to arrange boat for activities, e.g., seeing the rocks with glass bottom boat, to the Jangle Beach for snorkelling or so. The sea was rough.

The room was not good, no extra towels, tissues and bathroom push shower was broken overall not clean at all. The receptionist was reluctant to give password and was misinformed about number of rooms by her manager. I had to show my Expedia receipt to confirm my rooms.
