Have stayed at the hotel before and loved it. Unfortunately the hotel is now starting to look run down and the little details have been missed. Room smelt of damp and we found mold in the bathroom. Services advertised on hotels.com come at an additional £40 for the outdoor pool. Headboard on bed had many stains which was off putting and room just looked like it needed a deep clean. Won’t be coming back.

The Swan Hotel - never disappoints
Staff very friendly, helpful etc even though I believe the hotel was full so very busy. Service slightly extended because of this but quite understandable. Enjoyed the use of the indoor pool which was quiet. Food in the restaurant better than the pub menu, had delicious pork chop. Plenty of car parking and two electric chargers which was useful for our needs. Our grandson aged 7 loved it and said he felt really happy in this hotel, so, basically thats all that matters to us.

An execellent hotel in a splendid location with good facilities. However, at peak times access to the spa can be restricteed due to a limitation on numbers.

There were stains on the table top. Bed seemed to be on a slant. Curtains were off the hooks but I managed to put the hooks back. Breakfast was ok but have had better

Really enjoyed our two night stay here, we came to the christmas market and were impressed so we decided to come back, Staff are amazing and helpful, especially the restaurant staff, Also the staff in the Holte Spa couldn't be more obliging.

The staff were very accommodating and very pleasant. There were no bottles of water in the rooms and when we asked why not, we got told that it is no longer provided. The floors in the ladies and gents changing rooms were very dirty and it hadnt been cleaned for quite sometime. There were no shampoos or body wash in the male changing rooms and there was no one to attend to the floor safety around the pool as there were a lot of water and very slippery. No drinking water was provided in the water machines. When this was mentioned to the staff, we got told that the hotel had to cut down in the cost and yet the prices of the rooms had increased greatly, including the prices of the foods and drinks at the bar and the restaurant. It is a shame to see that the standard had dropped a lot despite the huge increase in the cost.

Lovely surroundings but overpriced
The hotel itself is lovely and the surroundings are beautiful but it is very overpriced. The aircon in the room didn’t work, the wardrobe door was off it’s runners and the pillows were flat and ultimately useless. It lacked the small touches that you expect paying the price they charge and that you expect from a 4 star hotel. The scampi I ordered as an evening meal was over cooked and had to be sent back, I received another one pretty much the same. The meals are very expensive and so should be perfect. Overall it was a little disappointing sadly.

Good position, but has a lack of attention to detail. The wall heater did not work but they brought an oil fired one which was fine. The central light fitting had exposed cables and looked untidy. The shower handset was loose. Very limited amount of storage only room for 6 hangars in total.

The setting of the hotel was beautiful. The hotel was stunning However the food could have been better. Choice for dinner was very limited. Unfortunately I had to return my breakfast on the first morning as it was vey cold Overall our stay was pleasant

Choose something better
Management not in place. They just see you as milk cows. Avoid this place. Far too expensive for what it is. We didn't have a nice time here. Simple things they cannot organise. Worst is to say things are gluten free while they clearly were not. Staff running around like headless chickens or just gossiping with each other instead of doing basics right. Cannot trust lift. Swimming pool out of order as water cloudy (read dirty) takes days to sort it For the amount of money a no go place.

Bad stay at swan
Was really looking forward to stay at swan i booked a room for my son partner and five year old wwe we're at a wedding till late when we arrived at room only a cot for five year old to sleep in had to share with mum and dad breakfast not good in a short stay i witnessed 6 people complaining won't be stopping here again

Good Afternoon,Thank you for your review, the booking pulled though manually on our system as aged 2 for a child which is why we set up a cot in the room. I sincerely apologise that this was incorrect we just took the information of the booking as it came through on the system. I will investigate as the why that information was incorrect. Just for future reference we have night porters that work from half 10 until 7am who carry a phone that can answer all internal hotel calls, he would have been happy to change the cot in the bed to a z bed suitable for a 5 year old. I was on check out that particular morning and wasn’t made aware of any other complaints.Kindest regards,Guest service Manager
