"The hotel was under construction, smelled like propane, there was no restaurants open in walking distance, and the onsen was closed. We didn’t stay the night we left and found better suited accommodation. "

"Fantastic stay, perfect for your skiing or snowboarding trip. The rooms are large with lots of space, the onsen and shower area is well kept and peaceful. The staff are amazing and will shuttle you to close resorts as well as into town for dinner and pick you up. Highly recommend for your ski base! "

"We stayed for a week and loved it. Slightly out of town (about a 5-10 min walk) which can be a bit of a pain particularly if it is belting down with snow, but it is manageable. We ate dinner in town every night, so had to walk up/down each day... it is a decent uphill to get into town but not terrible. We also walked it a couple of times in ski-boots - after night skiing and on the last day after dropping off skis. Our room was simple but clean, with plenty of space There is a public onsen...

I love their displays of art and the maps of the local area. The breakfasts were splendid and the host worked to accommodate the dietary needs of one of our group."

"The cottage has everything a family needs but the communications around check-in was very poor and hotels.com's customer service was unwilling to provide any assistance. I would have thought some level of quality control helped justify hotels.com's commission. Either way, the cottage is managed by the building next door and this is where you need to go to collect the key. "
