Terrific Location
Great location between Lake Tahoe and Truckee and many golf courses in between. Precise instructions on where to park your car, but few on how to find the unit. It took me a half hour of wandering around to find the place. What check-in process? There is none. Also, no TV users instructions.

Fees should be disclosed and Parking is a partial problem
VRBO and Vacasa both charge fees on this property (reservation vs. management) need to disclose all the fees upfront. You don't see them all until checkout and it feels like a bait and switch. Property is in a good location. It's a simple room, but good for a ski weekend. Except for the parking situation I would recommend it. On the day you check out you must move your car (far away or pay for premium parking closer). This negates the advantage of being so close to the slopes - especially if you only stay for one night. Other properties in this building allow you check out in the morning and to park in the spot until 4pm so you can ski all day. This one does not. Vacasa said this is policy, but I did not experience this at other Timber Creek properties this season. This made the location less attractive.

Great location
Right in the village, easy access to lifts/bars/restaurants. Room is small and dated, some wear and tear, definitely better places to stay in the area. Not bad though.

As advertised except parking spot is in construction zone and not usable. Fridge works, but seems a little ‘challenged’.

No frills room in the heart of the Village
Our family stayed here for a quick getaway to Northstar for skiing. The two queen beds were fine for our family. One annoyance was that we wanted to ski on our checkout date but needed to return the parking pass by 11am, requiring us to repark the car. The room was centrally located and included some dishes, small fridge and microwave so we could make a quick breakfast before heading to the slopes.

No luxury but convenient with perks
A small, studio with 2 queen (comfortable) beds. Forget about preparing any food, quarters too tight although it does have a small frog. If your out and about and only there to sleep, it will do. However, the cable box wasn't working so no TV although they were to replace on day we left and the DVD only plays in black and white. It does provide you with a good parking place and use of the recreation center, which is very nice and is located right in the village so no need to drive anywhere.

Horrible !!
This is a terrible unit do not book it! Curtains falling off rods, old smelly bedding and the water dispenser in sink bubbles and makes loud noises waking u up in the middle of the night. Owner needs to freshen this place up. Complained to leasing agent with no response or apology in return. I am disappointed to have found a place like this on VRBO. Needs to be better screening implemented. NEGATIVE stars for this one folks.

Aged decor, soft beds and no airflow. Good for 1-2 nights max
This property needs a face lift. Very aged decor. Bad beds and very dated comforters. No parking pass despite two phone calls. Plus it is super convenient in the village

Clean unit in heart of the village
You can't beat this place for price and location! Right in the village, lots of restaurants, very short walk by breakfast spots and ski rental shop to the Gondola. Was clean, has small closet for skis and deck looking over village walkway.

Great location, a lot smaller than the picture portrays
Location here is key since you really can't beet being IN the village. Having said that, this is not much more than a hotel room with a kitchenette. It's what we needed so no complaints. The only problem we experienced was that the parking pass was missing. We called the renter and they promised to get us a replacement, but it never came.

No fills genuine place to stay in the village
I had a great time staying in Northstar. The condo is very convient and just steps away from the gondola. The showers are always hot with perfect water pressure and the bed is comfortable. What else do you need on a ski trip? As long as your not picky about living in luxury then this place is one of the most affordable options in the heart of Northstar.

Not well maintained
When we arrived the smoke alarm battery was dead so the alarm was chirping and the shower didn't work. Water trickled out around the head but no water came through the the head. I called about both issues but got no response. I just took the batteries out of the smoke detector - not so safe but at least we could sleep. I paid for a late checkout specifically so my son could shower after a long day biking but, despite my calls, the shower wasn't fixed. I was contacted after the stay and explained my problems in an email but heard nothing back. Also, the instructions for arrival are really bad. They tell you where to park but not how to find the actual unit and it isn't at all obvious. I wouldn't stay here again and I'd avoid Vacasa properties in general - they're really unresponsive.

Smaller than photos suggest, but overall decent value
We arrived at the unit to find there was no parking pass for us in the unit. I called the phone numbers for Vacasa provided to me and was prompted to leave a message, despite every email stating that someone would be available until 10pm 7 days a week. I left a voicemail and did not receive a call back until the next morning. Thankfully the only thing we need was the parking pass and there was plenty of free parking just a little bit further away. The Vacasa manager at the resort handled the problem the next day and gave us a temporary pass. The balcony was a nice bonus and overlooked some of the north star village restaurants. The only downside to the balcony was there was only one chair and it was broken. The room is tiny. The photos make it look much more spacious than it actually is. There's very little room to walk around in the room. The unit is pretty outdated, too. Luckily we didn't spend much time in the condo. One of the reasons we chose to stay here was because it was right by north star village and we thought it would be nice to stay near restaurants and shops and such. Being our first time in the Tahoe area, we had no idea that everything would be closed. The restaurants were only open on some days (there was no rhyme or reason to it, just random days). Everything was closed early or wasn't open very early. There are several amazing places to eat nearby in downtown Truckee. The Rec center was really nice. There's a separate pool and hot tub for adults that's quieter and calmer since no children are allowed back there. And if you have children that want to play, there's a few kid-friendly pools and a family hot tub. We had to each pay $2 to get in but it was totally worth it. The water pressure in the bathroom was good, but occasionally during showers, the water would suddenly get scalding hot for a couple of seconds. Minor annoyance, but could be dangerous for children. The door also doesn't lock just by closing it. We found that pressing the keypad a few times made the electronic lock activate. The beds were comfy and the wifi was decent. I'm generally not too picky about decor and size of room, but my friend wasn't too happy about it and I feel it may be helpful for others to know. Overall, it was an okay value for the price. If you're just looking for a place to sleep, this is great. If you're looking for luxury, this is not the place for you.

Toilet leaked and property manager and cleaning crew didn't do what they should have unsanitary!
When we arrived on Thursday February 11, 2015 we called because the bathroom toilet was leaking and there was a towel stuffed behind the toilet to soak up the toilet water. We were told someone would be out to fix the next day. We also went out to enjoy the view from the porch where there was food on the ground and drinks left on the chair. We left the room and when We got back to our room there was more water on the ground and more towels shoved behind the toilet it was still leaking so I called again. We had to take showers and use the rest room trying to navigate through toilet water! Just nasty! Finally got it but when they cleaned up the bathroom floor with our towels they hung them outside on the chairs we should have been relaxing on. It was disgusting. We loved the location but this was unacceptable. As a land lord I know what kind of damage can be caused by leaking water and I'm sure the owner of your property would be enraged that whoever cleaned the room just stuffed towels behind the toilet and didn't get it fixed. Also as a guest I paid very good money to stay and have a clean sanitized room. I was very disappointed that the way this was handled. In the end(our last day) we got new towels and they came to pick up the wet toilet water towels, the food on the ground and dirty cups outside. I was told I would get a credit for the inconvenience but have still not heard back from VACASA. If you see a property booked with Vacasa property management beware!
