Some positives: Registration clerk and dining room staff were excellent. All the scenic views were incredible! Some negatives: Parking guard was not very welcoming, and when we asked a housekeeper for directions to her room, she was very unfriendly. For dine-in room service, we ordered two items. It took over an hour, and they only brought one of the two items, as one was forgotten. The shampoo dispenser was broken, so we had to unscrew the top to get shampoo. The shower head had low pressure. Expected better, especially for $1700 for one night’s stay.

The Ocean view and the golf course view were fantastic. The walking trail is also nice. Golfers have access to Half Moon Bay Golf Links golf courses. The Ocean course is enjoyable.

The grounds are beautiful and plenty of trails. The dining, shops, and activities around the resort are limited. A rental car is a must when staying at the hotel any length of time.

The shower head was old and didn’t drip well. They had an unaccounted for hair dryer because we had none during our stay. I received an email from their staff accusing me of it being missing. Once I called them, then they were apologetic. That doesn’t change the fact that it was ridiculous to try to accuse me Menu food options are very limited in the inside and outside restaurants. Regular staff was very nice. My server was a very nice lady. Bagpipe player was amazing Views from my room were amazing

The location, scenery, golf access, and service were phenomenal. The food needs to be better, especially for the price. The rooms need an upgrade as amenities are not representative of the Ritz Carlton brand (no USB outlets, no mini bar, finishes are dated, etc…). Half Moon Bay is extraordinary and I will return but the hotel is stuck in the year 2000

Don’t go!

Not worth the price! Nice location, but there are several nice hotels with as good a view for a quarter the price. Nothing special about this place. Over priced food and average service at restaurants was disappointing. Went for Anniversary, paid $1600 for the night, and not even a card in the room. Won’t go back! Do not recommend.

Disappointing Experience at The Ritz-Carlton, Half

I recently booked a stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay through Hotels.com for my VIP customer from October 7th to October 8th, 2023. Unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory. During our stay in Room 221, the shower system was malfunctioning, and despite multiple attempts to request assistance from the front desk, the issue was not resolved. This left us without a functioning shower throughout our stay, which was a significant inconvenience. Our expectations for The Ritz-Carlton were high, given its reputation for exceptional service and luxurious accommodations. However, the failure to address a basic amenity like the shower system in a timely manner was a disappointment. We hope that the hotel will investigate this matter thoroughly and take measures to prevent such incidents in the future. Our commitment to providing our VIP customers with exceptional experiences is of utmost importance, and we trust that The Ritz-Carlton will take the necessary actions to restore our confidence in their establishment.

It’s rare for me to think a $1k / night rate for a hotel is worth it but with this Ritz property, I felt like it was a bargain. Had the ocean view room, no balcony for the basic one but regardless was incredible. I am excited to go back and try a different room. The staff were helpful and present at all hours.
