"We were delighted with our stay at Shady Grove. The cabin is extremely well laid out, clean with quality throughout. My wife and I enjoyed hiking on the private 3 mile trail, seeing the grapes up close and from the cabin. The area is completely secluded and private with the exception of deer, fireflies, bluebirds and rabbits. The outdoor amenities were great and we used the grill for dinners we enjoyed on the patio. We will definitely plan to return."

"This is an older cabin so do not expect luxury. The spot is all about the privacy, view, outdoor space and access to a a lovely creek with easy launch of your own or provided kayaks. Lots of smaller red eye bass to catch The stream water is crystal clear and great for the dogs. Shade in the evening for the enclosed porch. Great internet signal if you can’t leave work behind. The nearby Roaring Run hike is spectacular when open. Nearest real grocery is 30 minutes away so pack well."

"Very nice cozy cabin, close to AT and trails, 30 minutes to Roanoke. Nicely appointed with kitchen items, seating etc. Driveway is steep and gravel with some concrete for traction at sharp turn and ok after a trip up and down but more of a challenge in the dark. Secluded and quiet and a great place to relax. Bring binoculars if you’re into birds, saw scarlet tanagers, ovenbirds, pileated woodpeckers +"

"After a struggling morning and afternoon with rental car we finally got to our little cabin in the woods. When I say what a quiet relaxing environment this cabin offered I'm not exaggerating. We drank our coffee on the porch in the mornings and talked with the donkeys. I named them Fred and Ethel lol. We watched deer , bunnies, birds and chipmunks. We cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner outside and enjoyed a breeze with the sunset. We would relax in the hot tub and listen to the frogs . We would...
