"Staying in the park was definitely worth a few extra dollars. The lodge itself was very college-dorm-like (cement block walls) with similarities to a 1950’s motor lodge. But, we could walk to the rim trail, the market, the shuttle bus stop, and dinner, which made it worthwhile."

"The rooms are very outdated. Was told we would have a great balcony view of a farm but looked like a junk yard. The wagon wheel saloon restaurant was gross. The waiter was more worried about what everyone was doing than waiting on the people there. Was told by the front staff that all their income comes from their Japanese travelers and tourist visitors don’t matter to them. Just all around very poor and not worth the $270 for one night. "

"The location and size were amazing. Loved it overall, but the cleanliness could definitely use some work. I spilled water on the ground and when I wiped it up my tissue was black and brown, defined hasn’t been mopped in a long time. Also very dusty on the second floor, I put my luggage down for two seconds and it got covered in dust. If you’re willing to do a clean yourself when you get there then it’s worth it. "
