Lovely staff who gave us a warm welcome and were incredibly kind to our children. Unfortunately, the hotel itself was disappointing. It felt quite run down, with peeling wallpaper, a strong cigarette smell even on the non-smoking floor (was quite strong in our room), and noticeable thick dust in the corners of the room. The beds and pillows were extremely uncomfortable and hard (pillow had strange hard base with lumps), and despite being on the fifth floor, the room was noisy throughout the night from street noise, sirens, and even the vending machine outside our door. We understood we had booked a small room, which is common in Japan, so the size wasn’t our concern. It was the overall condition, comfort, dustiness and lack of soundproofing that let it down. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel for families with young children. It may be better suited to backpackers or travellers on a very tight budget.

Checkin process was super easy and fast, it counts after a long flight and getting late at night. I think I asked for job-smoking but my room was probably a smoking room. The location was so close to the station and have restaurants everywhere nearby.

The location is incredibly convenient from Ueno Station. Front desk staff and breakfast staff are very nice and friendly. Check in was quick and there are nice treats for guests. My room was spotless, well-appointed, and quiet. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Reasonably priced and very clean hotel. Facilities are basic but staff are polite, cleaning persons are very hardworking and meticulous, and location is 2 mins away from the JR Ueno station

Great Location Near Ueno Station The location of this hotel was fantastic—just a 3-minute walk to Ueno Station, which made getting around Tokyo so easy. I also loved that it’s close to Ueno Zoo and the park, which was perfect for a relaxing afternoon stroll. While the hotel itself is a bit dated and the rooms are on the smaller side, it had everything I needed for a short stay. The in-room fridge and kettle were convenient, and there are plenty of convenience stores nearby. I would definitely stay here again for the unbeatable location.
