I had a wonderful stay at GLOU Higashi Shinjuku. The location is fantastic—super convenient, just steps away from the metro and close to plenty of shops and restaurants. The staff were very friendly and helpful, making the check-in process smooth and comfortable. The room and facilities were spotlessly clean and well maintained, which made the stay even more enjoyable. Overall, a great experience—I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Tokyo!

Loved our stay at this hotel! Great value for the price. The room was bigger than we expected of Tokyo; the staff were super helpful and friendly; check-in and checkout process was very smooth. Location is fantastic - we explored most of Shinjuku and Shibuya just walking from the hotel. The subway stop is 3 minutes away as well. Highly recommend this spot!

Great value and excellent location. Very clean as well and easy check-in/-out. Only a bit small/narrow especially with the bed on the upper floor but that’s not uncommon in Tokyo. At times, the wi-fi is a bit patchy/unstable but nothing too bad. Highly recommend as an affordable option!

Pretty Okay Stay

GLOU is located in the residential area away from Korean Town in Higashi Shinjuku. It is a 3-minute walk from exit B1 from the Fukutoshin Line (Tokyo Metro) and a 13-minute walk from the JR Shin-Okubo station. Check-in progress was straightforward, and our room was very spacious for a room in Tokyo. We stayed across from the main building, where reception and coin laundry are located. Some issue we had during our stay was the odor (the room smelled like feet-maybe because the room was carpeted and the ventilation was not amazing; I had to get room refresher spray day) and squeaky bed/bed frame. It would've been nice if there was a humidifier since the air does get air throughout the night. Overall a nice space where we can comfortably lay out all our luggage in the room; a good 12 min walk to Golden Gai/Kabuki-cho. 7-11/Lawson are within 2-3 blocks away. Located near busy streets with lots of Korean shops.

Overall would recommend.

Well located - 10-20min walk to most touristy things in Shinjuku, and 2 min walk to the subway for everything else. Tiny as everyone says. Open your suitcase & put it under the bed for some space. If you have carry on plus checked luggage, probably not the hotel for you. The bathroom is tight, but totally useable.

It was literally right next to a train station so you could get anywhere you wanted. food street and shopping around the corner. the staff (ken m) feel bad i don't remember girls names were so helpful. i literally bothered them day and night for directions and they would draw maps and call places to help make reservations. rooms were small but that's only cause i have huge suit cases. the showers had great pressure and hot water.

We had a fantastic stay at GLOU! This hotel was in such a great location and is right near a central subway line that can get you anywhere you need to go. The room is a little small but all we really needed was a place to store our stuff and sleep, so it wasn’t too much of an issue. The staff was great and made check in seamless. Would definitely stay here again!

Belle place pour passer quelques jours à Tokyo. Je suis totalement satisfait du rapport qualité/prix. Le personnel était vraiment disponible et répondait avec empressement à nos questions. Ils ont été très aidants. La chambre était très propre et entretenue quotidiennement durant notre séjour. Je recommande!
