The hotel itself was a bit confusing. You enter the lobby of the hotel to find out you might be placed in their Annex building which is next door but weird to have two separate buildings listed for one hotel.
The redeeming quality for me was the staff who were very friendly and helped me get mine and my husband’s luggage to our room from the hotel to the annex. They also nicely held onto our luggage after we checked out so we could walk around before our flight without our bags.
Staff was great, property itself was okay.
Location is one of my key priority, hotel is located within minutes of walking to Ueno station! Room
Is clean too. Will stay with this hotel when back to Ueno👍
I’m expected small hotel rooms in Ueno. However, there is an odour that made my wife very uncomfortable. Also, the electric socket and bedside lamp are broken and is a sign of poor maintenance. The good thing is the hotel is very close to the train station and with plenty of restaurants and shopping malls in the immediate vicinity.
I love the location. It is easy to get to the Station and Ameyoko is so fun. I always pick this place because of location and because they have a sauna, bath, and cold plunge.
Staff was excellent, they were polite, professional and friendly. The onsen was great, well tended, clean and friendly to tourists (however, they will not allow those with tattoos to enter). The hotel in the heart of Ueno, a block or so from Ueno Station, and in the middle of food and shopping areas. The room was larger than some of the other hotel rooms we stayed at and could fit 2 individuals and luggage without too much of a hassle.
The issues I encountered: The socket in the bed didn't work, the lamp on the bed could be turned on to the lowest setting or it spazzed out, and the bathroom ergonomics were suuuuper uncomfortable (I have a bruise on my knee as proof of how odd the experience of getting in and out of the restroom was). The bigger concerns were more security based: Anyone from the street level can gain access to the guest levels, and anyone can have wifi access regardless of guest status.
Great location! It was wonderful to get back to the hotel at the end of the night with such a lively neighborhood full of delicious foods and cheerful people! The onsen was amazing , clean and so relaxing! Super plus for having smoking room and a coin laundry place in the same building! Will be coming back 😍

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities
It had a relaxing spa an was right next to a great restaurant
Excellent location, in an area with many restaurants, walking distance to Ueno station, Ueno Park and museums. Tidy hotel, friendly staff, rooms are equivalent to a cruise cabin - small but comfortable.
This is my third time staying at this hotel. The location is excellent, the rooms are quite spacious for the area, all the staff are very friendly and speak excellent English, and the onsen (hot spring) is a great facility. I will definitely come back next time I'm in Tokyo.
Hotel was beautiful rooms were very nice. Very close to restaurants and train station was very close only a few blocks. Would definitely recommend. The spa onsen was absolutely amazing. Used it every single day.
Great place. In the heart of the action. Yet quiet, clean and well managed. They also have a spa + foot massage nearby.
134 year old soba noodle joint around the corner. Train station 200 yards away.
Go there, you’ll thank me later
