Carved from black coral rock in the 10th century, this iconic temple sits atop a rugged cliff some 76 metres high. One of Bali’s oldest, it was built as a ‘kayangan jagat’ or directional temple, which according to Hinduism means its purpose is to protect the island from evil spirits.

The remote Jimbaran Beach is a picturesque stretch of coast, perfect for those looking for a quiet holiday in Bali. You’ll fall in love with scenes of bright wooden boats floating on the calm waters of the bay, the local fishermen and their daily rituals, and the fresh fish served at the waterfront restaurants. By night there’s even a chance for a dance at one of the bars and clubs that line the beach.
