"This is a good place if you plan to be out most of the time. The location is great, close to everything. The breakfast was good and useful in the mornings before the hikes. The kitchen staff was nice and friendly. There is no elevator on the property; be prepared to carry everything and leave nothing in your car. There is an active bear population. If you are staying for an extended period, you need to request that your room be cleaned or that you receive clean towels. The television cannot connect to any apps or your phone. You are at the mercy of local channels with commercials (this was torture even for the limited time we were there). Overall, the place was neither the worst nor the best, but if I had to go back in time, I would pay a little more and stay in the village."

Motel 6 Mammoth Lakes, CA

"Best Motel 6 I have ever stayed at. I was greeted at the front desk as if it were a 5 star hotel rather than the dismissive way I expect at a Motel 6. I was treated as if I were a honored guest rather than I burdon like I typically am received at these inexpensive establishments. The bedding was soft in addition to being clean. Everything in the room worked and there were no ignored maintenance items. The only thing that reminded me I was in a motel 6 is I could hear the upstairs neighbor like a heard of elephants late into the night. Conveniently located in town. TV had convenient HDMI connection on the front to hook into my laptop."

"I like the area of the condo. Quiet away from the village. Only 5 min. Drive to the village. Friendly staff. Offered trip suggestion in the area. Vons market 5 min. Drive. I like “Gomez”, Mexican restaurant. Too bad the resort has no cafe’, or restaurant. Jacuzzi was great at night. With cool breeze. They have three. I was very concerned about A/C. Non in the units! We were instructed to leave the windows open all night to get the cool air in. Two ceiling fans working. Non in the kitchen but, there was an extra fan in the closet. The room temp was 78( too hot for me) We stayed 3 nights and tried to adjust to have no a/c in July. A must: 1. Convict lake 3 miles hike. A dramatic view! 2. Mono lake- strange and blizzard. The only kind in the world! 3. June lake 4. The trip highlight was taking the gondola all the way up to the summit 11,000 ft elevation. $39/pp but totally worth it. We spend three hours up"

The Sierra House

10/10 Excellent

"Our stay at Sierra House was great. We were visiting over the July 4th holiday and stayed in their new buildings. The forest view was stunning from the top floor and the rooms were brand new, clean and very tastefully decorated. It’s close to a lot of restaurants and entertainment, and has a great spa on the property with a jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. Allie, the front desk staff was also really great! The only issue we had was that our balcony was shared with the room next to us, and no divider in between."
