A few yards away you can go for a swim or to the bar…or for both at the same time! I was traveling to a different Caye after my stay here and the owner was very busy but still willing to help me find a hotel during my venture to a different Caye! Also has Continental breakfast! "I stayed at El Ben Cabañas for one night in early October during my birthday trip to Belize. I was born in Belize and live in the United States, but on this visit home, I wanted to experience more of the tourist side this time. The resort is absolutely beautiful and located on the north side of Caye Caulker. Even though that side is quieter and less built up, the staff made everything so easy. They took us back and forth on a golf cart to the south side ferry whenever we wanted to explore and never once made us feel bad about it. We visited during the off-season, so it felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. The night before, a storm had flooded the room we were supposed to have, so they upgraded us to the most amazing suite — a huge room, soft bed and sheets, a wraparound porch, a recliner chair, and even a heated toilet! The front desk welcomed us with two drinks, and everyone we met was friendly and kind. I wish I remembered the name of the woman who checked us in because she was wonderful. The property was peaceful, clean, and quiet — perfect for relaxing. You do have to pay for your own ferry back and forth from north to south, but they’ll help you coordinate it easily. Overall, it was the best way I could’ve spent my birthday, and I’d definitely come back again. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful, luxury stay in Caye Caulker. THANK YOU EL BEN!"

"I booked this property after a disappointing experience at an AIRBNB on south Caye Caulker. Alyssa (sp?) greeted me with a cool fruit drink upon arrival and it set the tone for the rest of the stay. The property is beautiful, clean and bug-free (except for mosquitos once you get away from the grounds). The best part of the stay was the staff. It feels like family (and some of them are). Just nice people."

"Perfect location for me. Great pizza delivered to my room. So much good food and great beaches and grocery stores within a couple blocks. Simple, good WiFi, cold AC. All I needed. However if an occasional gecko, roach, or some pealing paint ruins your day this may not be the place for you. "
