Dayton House Resort, BW Signature Collection

8/10 Good

"I always stay at Dayton House. Staff is always friendly. The hotel is worn but they keep it clean for the most part. I love Sara the bartender. The food is delicious to be from a hotel. The cooks and breakfast crew love their jobs because the food reflects it. The bar drinks are very inexpensive. My only complaint was that I was disappointed that there was no entertainment at the pool area like it was before. I think it should be a more livelier vibe at the pool. I kept asking for the music to be turned on an no one cared. My friend stayed at another local hotel and he said they partied every night with a dj, u had to go to his hotel for entertainment. I just think that could be a priority for guests all summer!"

"The cleaning staff was very kind and efficient. The servers at the pool restaurant were very responsive and helpful. We waited for a long time to be served at the breakfast restaurant, and the buffet was very expensive. The one gentleman preparing the omelettes was really talented, but he was alone with a very long line and no support. I recommend they create a self-serve waffle, stand for guests to make their waffles on their own rather than having to wait in line."

"Checked in on a Thursday night, at 2am there were still people in the pool yelling and screaming. Cops arrived and more shouting. Rooms are very dated and in need of repair. The elevator felt extremely sketchy. Thursday night a handicap family were stuck on it for 20 minutes. The rest of our stay it worked very slowly . My daughter offered to trade rooms with the handicap family and the hotel staff would not allow it! Beds were very uncomfortable. Check the sheets!!!! My daughter’s room had disgusting dirty sheets with body fluids on them. Sand fleas in the kiddie pool. Children got covered in them. Male front desk clerk acted very shady. Found palmetto bugs in the room because all the doors have open cracks for them to get in the room. The kitchen sink and the tub drained extremely slow. We did go travel around the area and found much nicer accommodations available if we decide to return in the future."

"Def a 10 out of 10 would recommend to anyone that speaks on staying in the myrtle beach area. So much fun for the kids where you dont have to leave the hotel. They have a restaurant inside the hotel and plenty of activities for kids to do through out the stay,sleeps very good. Me and my grandkids definitely enjoyed ourselves and will be back soon."

"The staff was rude while checking in. The tv in the room kept shutting off and turning back on none stop. The front desk set maintenance to switch tv out but all they kept doing was trying to fix it. The fire alarm went off in the middle of the night, crazy loud. No fire! The pool was great! The access to the beach was wonderful!! Fixed feelings about this place."
