"The view was amazing! The rooms were very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with coffee, spices, dishes, pots, etc. We were very comfortable staying there as the area is very quite and serene. We were visiting from Texas so this may have been just something specific to the area or Maine, but the tap water had a metallic taste to it. Certainly not a issue/reason to not stay, we simply purchased bottled water for making coffee, drinking and cooking. If this is common for the area, it might be good to notify guests so that they are prepared. The information provided by Julie regarding things to do in the area were much appreciated and did not disappoint. We have recommended the property to friends who will be visiting Maine later this year! We loved reading the journal entries as well!"

"The location next door to Helen's Restaurant was fantastic since we had rain that evening. The view of the river from the Adirondack chairs out the back door would have been a great feature were it not for the rain! My small complaint was that there was only 1 coffee pod (the second was decaf). Perhaps they took into account that there was a single occupant. I would stay again."

"Roadside motel with spacious rooms and dog friendly. The hotel is undergoing major renovations. We stayed in a not yet remodeled room, so comments on the physical quality will soon be outdated. That said, our room was well maintained but showing some wear."

"So very Private! A whole beach to ourselves and so quiet. We had a group ages 11 months to 92 years (4 generations) and had a wonderful time. The sunsets were epic!"

"Lodging was not cleaned prior to my arrival. Bed was unmade, garbage was full in bathroom and kitchen, used bath towels left in bathroom. Patio door deadbolt was stuck and did not lock and was therefore unsecured for duration of stay. No shampoo or body wash provided. Smoke alarms were low on batteries and let out a loud, shrill shriek every 45 seconds for duration of stay, including the one in the living room on the lofted ceiling out of reach. I was awoken at 3 am to the smoke alarm in my bedroom yelling at me to change the batteries. When I did so, the chirps did not stop in the living room. It's a shame because otherwise, the cabin was adorable and in a gorgeous location. Based on the lack of amenities and cleanliness, it did not feel worth the price."

"The location was perfect! The house was very comfortable and being directly on the lake was a real treat. It was great to have access to a dock and kayak. We definitely missed that the second bedroom was an outside bunk house, but there was plenty of extra bedding to sleep on the couch! Very much appreciated the personal, homey details at the property."
