The hotel is a beautiful hotel full of wonderful atmosphere. However, it seems ina turmoil at the moment. The receptionist tried very hard but was unable to sort things out. We book two deluxe rooms, one to house two adults and two children and the other for the grandparents and one of the children. We found the first room housed only three and were promised a replacement room nor a trundle bed but none were available and the poor fellow at the desk said there was no one to help and that was it. So we had a very uncomfortable night with a child in the double bed.

Lovely old school hotel with great room amenities in the heart of Sydney. I was on a floor where all rooms had been renovated and once all floors complete, will remain a modern hotel with old school charm.

Yes, the building is wonderful but this seems to be an excuse for lazy staff to do the bare minimum and display quite poor behaviours. The room we had was not the cleanest, nor the most comfortable, and was not set up for the three people that were booked to stay. Breakfasts were of only average quality - not the standard I would expect from a hotel such as this.
