Disappointing stay, which started poorly with a very tired looking reception and a receptionist who looked flustered, to the point she couldn't take my card details. The room was clean and a good size, although the bathroom was tired with cracked tiles and mouldy grouting and the shower cubicle was small.
I ate in the restaurant and the food took far too long to arrive. The staff were pleasant and apologetic. I tried to put the bill on my room but that was an issue for them, although the waiter finally said he would sort it. I returned to the room to settle in for the night when I got a call from reception about 9.00pm asking me to make payment as I hadn't registered my card. I explained why and this was becoming a joke. She said OK, no apology or explanation! I used the gym, which was a good size with a good mix of equipment, but on closer inspection, all the benches were ripped and in a poor state, the cable machine was out of order and overall the place felt old and unloved.
Sorry, this hotel is not for business users and I won't be staying again.
