Edelhstar is a nice hotel. We enjoyed the radiant heating, and the breakfast had lots of options and was tasty. The staff was most accommodating by letting us have an early check in after a red eye flight. We were very appreciative.

What a lovely place, clisecto a small tiwn with plenty of foodie places, has its own very nice restaurant and bar.

Very enjoyable stay and I would return.
Clean and warm rooms, friendly staff, lovely clean and hot, hot tub, free parking. The breaky starts at 7am and is good, especially for the kids. The only area for improvement would be for some children’s meals for dinner, the menu is quite pricey otherwise, so we ate at a local Pizza place that the hotel recommended. I would definitely recommend and would stay again.

Solo trip
2nd time staying here, so I knew what to expect. The only difference this time was that one out of the 2 hot tubs was working. It was open from 4pm-10pm and was being used, i didn’t use it though. I would stay again.

This hotel is centered around equestrian life. It rained most of the time we were there so we didn’t see much of the area. The hotel is heated with geothermal. Our room was hot with no way to cool it. We couldn’t leave the door open because of the rain and the possibility of unwanted entry by humans or animals. The window would not stay open. Other than the heat issue, the hotel was good for our purposes.

We loved our stay at this hotel - our favorite hotel in 11 days of travel around Iceland. The staff is friendly, patient and very helpful. The lobby-reception area is relaxing with complimentary tea, coffee, cocoa and cookies. The hotel is exceedingly clean and the decor is soothing. Our room was amply spacious with a great bath room. Again, compared to 8 other hotel stays, the Eldhestar had the nicest breakfast buffet (included). The hot tub is another plus. We also recommend dining at the hotel for dinner. Excellent service, great food.

Great hotel, the front desk evening liaison was very helpful and sweet. Gave us a lot of ideas for our trip. She even got us a packed breakfast ready for the next day since we were leaving before the normal breakfast! The food in the hotel was delicious!

The Reception closes at 22:00 and afterwards our nightguard is in charge of the property. We did not receive any phone call from you regarding to the noise, but if you would let us know directly, we would react and solve the problem.We will try our best to have better overview on our guests needs in the future and we wish your next trips will be more convenient.

Our room didnt have towels and we have to ask the reception for it. Most likely it was missed out by the housekeeper. Bedroom and bathroom are spacious but a little run down.

Favorite place in Iceland
That was my favorite stay in the whole trip, clean, cozy, beautiful inside and the view outside is amazing. I felt so good there, safe and relax, like in a country house, seeing the mountains, snow and to complete in the morning seeing sunrise and the horses was amazing. The restaurant is so good.

The room was nice. The hot water was tricky and we were worried we would break the shower control to get it warm enough to get in there. But the staff was lovely and so kind and the room was very clean. Can’t speak for the hot tub because the weather was too crazy to try it.

Good value for money
A one night stay on our way to the Golden Circle. Hotel was clean, rooms were basic but functional. Equivalent of a UK 3 star. Hot tub on site. Breakfast was ok, you could make your own waffles and there were eggs alongside a continental selection. Would stay again.

The room had a particular smell. The breakfast (included) was OK, but the lunch option was basically the leftovers of the breakfast plus one soup and the dinner was just crazy expensive and very limited. I will not recommend this place.

Birthday trip
Stayed for 3 nights, booked a twin room, when we arrived the back door didn't lock. They had no available twin rooms so accepted a double room for the 1 night, instead of staying in the original room. So all in all we ended up in 3 room throughout our stay. The rooms were all big enough for the 2 of us, they were all clean and comfortable, only downside was the pillows were too flat for our liking, but we made it work. The hot tubs were closed so unable to comment. There was parking on site and we never had issues finding spaces. Before we arrived they emailed to let us know they had a Christmas dinner event during our stay, we booked a table and it was such s lovely experience. The chef walked us through the buffet, explaining all the different dishes, at the end the northern lights were visible and the chef came over to let us know when was a welcomed surprise. Plus we managed to see the northern lights all 3 nights that we were there. Breakfast was included, they had s nice mix of items available, from cook your own waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, bread, fruits, meats and cheese, vegetables, and a mix of spreads, as well as a variety of hot drinks. All the staff were welcoming and friendly, I would definitely return.

Free hot tub, not so busy. Convenient location, easy check in and out. Room cleanness is good. Dinning in the restaurant is below average comparing to other hotel, only limited choices and tasted not better than home cook. Quality of breakfast just so so, enough to fill your tummy though.

Terribly maintained property, please don’t stay here! Very dirty and smelly bathroom with a water flooding situation! Bedroom itself was worse than a motel room. Overall avoid at all costs!
