Great dog friendly hotel

Found this little gem whilst looking for a stopover hotel traveling from Winchester to the Highlands. Fabulous hotel, friendly staff,good food and friendly service. Rooms are well presented, also we were traveling with a dog so good to find a dog friendly hotel. If we ever come back this way we will look at stopping here.

One thing really makes this a fabulous place

Lovely hotel, gorgeous building with easy parking and great rooms. The bar, restaurant and the food are excellent. But there’s one thing that really makes this a fabulous - the staff! I can’t recall anywhere where they are as lovely, helpful, cheery and attentive. A real credit to the place

The team at the Strathaven Hotel were very friendly and helpful. We were pleasantly surprised to have a wonderful breakfast included, starting our day off on a great foot. There is a long hallway to get to the rooms and the floors can be noisy when people are walking, but we were almost at the furthest end so there wasn't lots of people. Overall, it was a great place to break up our drive north!

Good business stay

Welcome was good, dinner with colleagues delicious, and breakfast hit the spot. Room was ok, one single bed. Shower was strange in that there didn't appear to be a way to change the bath taps to the shower setting - or at least it wasn't very intuitive. Not the sort of thing you want to find with limited time in the morning!

Only 1 night!

Just staying for 1 night with my son who was taking part in car rally next day, unfortunately we had to leave before breakfast started and realised this when booking into reception, we also had a very good meal that night booked by reception and after returning from meal reception staff mentioned that a packed breakfast would be ready and waiting on our departure, we hadn’t asked for this but next morning we picked up our packed breakfast as we left. Excellent start for our day ahead and felt staff member had gone above and beyond what was required, Thank you very much
