"If you're a all creatures great and small fan, it's perfect, as you walk in you actually walk into the "drovers". If you're not a fan it will take you back it's an unchanged farmers country pub, but don't let that deter you, the rooms are stunningly clean, the staff friendly and very attentive."

Kitchen looked a bit tired with chipped worktops and it would be useful to have some drawers in the built in wardrobe areas for smaller items that don't need hanging. restaurant had good selection and food was good. "We had three nights at the Herriot and it was a lovely place to stay. The staff are amazing and everything just seems to work. We stayed in the Herriot House just next door in a family room which had more than enough room for two. A very relaxing stay. We’ll be back for sure."

"The plough inn was very helpful when I booked the wrong night and needed to change it, the plough could have just kept the money but agreed to the change. The room and bed were comfortable, the shower however didn’t work properly, it was a small matter overall in our stay. Breakfast was excellent staff very helpful."

"Location..it has beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. ( need a car) Rooms are very comfortable, tea /kettle etc. Stairs are a little steep. staff are lovely ,had a very pleasant stay. We arrived Saturday lunch time, they had a party of 40 in, but fitted us in and it was delicious! staff attentive and it arrived quickly so all good, so I am very sad ( and surprised ) to say breakfast was poor ! we didn't opt for the buffet and cooked ,rather just the cooked, it took ages to appear and when it did it was disappointing to say the least, and not worth the money such a shame ! We then came back for Sunday lunch ,the food was nice but service took a long time, we were not asked if we would like any condiments or if we needed anything else..we had to ask for the dessert menu..benefit of the doubt they were short staffed but.............! None of this would actually stop us booking again, but wouldn't bother with breakfast or Sunday lunch!"
