You can walk to Porthkidney Beach with its crystal water and sand. Transport links are excellent, buses run every thirty minutes and a short walk takes you to the railway station ideal for access to St Ives and Carbis Bay where parking can be a nightmare, especially in high season. You can also explore further afield as the link at St Erth, will take you on the Penzance to Paddington mainline allowing access to main towns such as Penzance and Truro. There is so much to do here for everyone, Lelant Salting is a short walk away, popular for walking and cycling it is flat so suitable for pushchairs, etc, you will pass the estuary popular for bird watchers, look out for little egrets, herons, and oystercatchers. There are plenty of places to explore from nature reserves, follow the Poldark trail, wander around the shops in nearby towns such as St Ives and Hayle, or have a game of golf at West Cornwall Golf Club. The largest beaches are at the Towans in Hayle, three miles of golden sand, popular with families and water sports enthusiasts, sheltered from the winds by dunes.

Our four-legged friends love the coastal walks, if you like to swim Porthkidney Beach is dog friendly all year round. If you don’t want to cook, the local pub yards away is always a good option, or walk a little further to a wider choice of restaurants and cafes. The garden is open so not suitable for letting dogs off leads as it is only separated from the neighbours by a gravel path.
