"This place was nice and felt like it was in an authentic area. There are several exceptional restaurants within walking distance. The pool was cold, but otherwise great. We discovered two ways to drive to the rental. One way is a vertical drive through a village. It is treacherous and will raise your blood pressure significantly. The other is much more manageable and on a well traveled main road. I recommend taking that one. Lots of cats. Off the beaten path."

This is a superb option for accommodation in the heart of the Trogir Old Town. First, the host Vesna was delightful and extremely helpful. She waited up late to greet us after our arrival was delayed by several hours until late at night. Then she helped arrange a visit to a local doctor (who was very competent and great to deal with btw) for a minor medical issue. This boutique family run hotel is in the best location, but without the noise you'd expect being so central. Completely soundproof. Amazing location. Need to get up some stairs to get to reception, but they aren't really an issue. The boys meet you on the exterior of the city and walk you and your luggage into the hotel. Too easy. Newly renovated. The hotel has only 6 Rooms. We stayed on the top floor. Although no lift we got used to climbing the stairs. The room was spacious and comfortable with beautiful large bathroom. The hotel staff were fabulous. Warm and friendly. The location was in the heart of the old town next to the Diocleation Palace and the waterfront. It was a great stay and amazingly quiet despite being in the heart of the old town

This hotel is perfectly located in the old town area of Split. It was clean and comfortable and the air conditioning was much appreciated in the summer heat! The staff were all very welcoming and helpful with luggage and travel suggestions, including checking that our outward ferry to Hvar was running on time. A simple continental breakfast is included each morning. The only improvement would be a little more storage space in the bathroom, e.g. a rack in the shower for soap, shampoo, etc.

Our experience at Imperator was excellent in all respects. Marina was great at meeting our taxi and taking us to the room, and Thomas was also great in helping with our luggage to the next hotel. Position was unbeatable, central in the Old Town, and convenient to numerous bars and restaurants (& gelato bars). We were warned about restaurant noise from the nearby dining but never found it a problem. Overall we can highly recommend Guesthouse Imperator.
