Nice country style hotel. Surrounded by good open spaces. Dog friendly rooms, with also an on site dog wash (we wish we’d taken our dog). Good terrace to sit on with a drink from the bar in the original building. Didn’t eat dinner in the restaurant, but was slightly overrun at breakfast. Early check ins and late check outs are charged as extras.

The rooms are not in the main building, they are what I can only describe as motel type rooms in a couple of blocks. We had a 1st floor room the window only opened an inch and there was no A/C, didn't get a lot of sleep at the weather therefore the room was baking hot. Lovely grounds to walk round and the breakfast was good in a really nice setting.

we had to change rooms 3 times due to A very strong smaellnof cigarettes, then an insect infestation and then the 3rd room was not very clean and needed a lot of maintenance. The main house, spa and breakfast were great. Some Room maintenance and furniture renewal would make this a fabulous stay.

Beautiful house which has the bar and restaurant. Most of the rooms are away from the house, and there was a lot of noise from the road in the morning. The rooms are a bit tired. The restaurant is in a lovely room and the food was ok. The swimming pool is good.

The corridors were a bit tired. People dragging their cases along damaged the wallpaper and it needs replacing. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay and the staff were really nice and helpful. Very handy location for getting to Southampton to join a cruise.

The main building is beautiful and grade one listed. The gardens were lovely and there was a great sense of history inside and out of the building. We sat out on the terrace with a drink and enjoyed the sunshine. Rather large queues at the bar. The rooms were clean and the bed comfortable. Unfortunately, the pool and the lift down to it showed signs of needing some TLC. We didn't have a TV remote, and when we tried to phone, we couldn't get through to the reception, as it was constantly engaged in the evening, so we did without. We found the food in the restaurant to be very expensive and rather disappointing. Two of the starters were inedible. They also ran out of wine glasses!
