Beautiful weekend at Lakeland

I visited the property with my family, age range from 4-50 years old. We really enjoyed everything. The resort is centrally located, we could walk to restaurants and grocery stores. The casino 5 minute drive. The unit was clean and comfortable! We could see the lake from our balcony. I recommend staying at this property!

Great Winter Getaway

This property was amazing and exactly what we were looking for. We stayed here for a few nights while visiting Tahoe, going skiing, snowshoeing etc. Lori was a fantastic host, very responsive and helpful. Would definitely recommend staying here for a Tahoe getaway!

Spring weekend heaven

My sister and I met with our families at this property and we had the best time. The house was clean and welcoming. It's so close to so many fun things in South Lake Tahoe. I can't wait to go back!

Awesome location!

Location was great for skiing. Close to Heavenly and in the middle of both Northstar and Kirkwood. Near tons of restaurants and shops and a SHORT walk down to the beach with awesome Hot Tub even in the winter. Condo was pretty great and was very homey - we will stay again if we find ourselves back in South Tahoe.

Close to everything

The property was clean and as close to the beach as possible without being on it. Close to favorite places like gift shop. HEAVENLY and my 2 fave groc.stores. Will return!

Relaxation at Southshore

We “happened” upon an opening due to a cancellation and decided to try it out. The unit is well kept, clean and welcoming. They have everything you need including water toys (kayaks,& paddle board-which we had never done before). Enjoyed the beach, BBQ and the proximity to everything including boat & jet ski rentals. We had a wonderful week at Sophie’s snow & sand shack and will definitely stay there again.

Perfect Weekend!

The condo was perfect for our weekend skiing trip, despite the snow storm as we were leaving. The place felt like a home rather just another rental property and it had everything we needed including a much needed hot tub after a day on the slopes. The lake is right off the hot tub/swimming area and we can't wait to come back and enjoy it during the summer! The property also has a shuttle that runs very frequently and can take you to Heavenly or the casinos in the evening. Overall a great place to stay!

Nice condo

The condo was nice, if not a bit snug, for 5 friends on a ski vacation. Parking was close and easy. Location was on the lake, close to Heavenly California lot, restaurants, grocery store, and casino area.A couple of challenges: - Ski storage locker was full of owners things. - Microwave apparently broke 10 days before our arrival and unfortunately was not replaced. - Only 1 thermostat which is on the livingroom level. When the fireplace is on in the livingroom it warms that room and the loft and the thermostat shuts off.and the 2 bedrooms on the lower level get cold.- local High School kids know the combination to the community hot tub. They were pleasant enough but one group brought bottled beer, without an opener, or any to share. Fortunately the bottle did not break into the hot tub when they tried to open the bottle on the tub’s coping

annual ski trip

We had 5 adults over 55. This was perfect for us. The Everything was clean, there was an abundance of towels and blankets, fully stocked kitchen, Peets coffee, a sweet card and bottle of wine upon arrival, walking distance to restaurants and beach, a fan for us "white noise" sleepers, etc. The dining room table was comfortable for dining together and playing games. I loved the heater in the smaller bathroom. 2 adult friends shared the loft comfortably. We did uber to town (only about 1 mile away- could walk), which was readily available. Very cozy and comfortable place. Loved it.

Not Too Shabby...

Love South Lake Tahoe! The scenery takes your mind off the crowds...which there were a lot of at Aston Lakeland, it's a popular place. But the emerald-blue lake, the gorgeous sunsets, the cool evenings all made it worthwhile. Our condo was clean and close, and pretty comfortable, aside from the miniscule 2nd bath (a closet, really), and no place to put your toiletries/small personals/etc. in the second BR (no dresser, desk, one teeny-weeny skinny entry table). We got there early - we had not been given a check-in time, and it was nowhere in the paperwork that we could find - so we assumed any time the day of our rental. However, cleaning team was still hard at work, and told us to come back 2 hours later. Oh, well, enjoying a cold local brew and hot wings was a lovely way to kill the time! My only REAL complaint...we were told emphatically that no pets (dogs) were allowed ANYWHERE ON THE PROPERTY, and we were sorry to have to leave our dogs home. I was disappointed to learn later, upon seeing many dogs enjoying the property, that that is not the case at all, and in fact confirmed with a fellow guest that she has "always brought her dog here." Uh...what gives with that? Overall, our stay was relaxing, invigorating and beautiful.

Perfect Tahoe Escape

This was my first VRBO rental, so please read with that in mind. Starting with the basics: mattress quality-awesome. Shower quality- great pressure and plenty of hot water for our group of 4 adults. Air temp- I am usually a big AC person, but with screened windows open at night, it was totally unnecessary, even with the current heat wave. Very comfy all around. The unit was very comfortable for our group of 4 adults. Huge kitchen table. Lovely balcony with convenient grill. Ease of check in and communication with host was fantastic. Lori was very responsive to all of my questions. The location of the unit was truly the best part. Walking distance to probably 10 restaurants (all with outside dining, both upscale and great ethnic options on Ski run Blvd), a CVS, 2 grocery stores, marina activities and tons of bike rental shops. On the paved bike trail. We even walked to Heavenly Village (the heart of the resort). It was only a mile down the bike trail. Steps to the gorgeous beach. The beach was beautiful and mostly empty for the majority of our 2 week stay. We only used it for an hour or two a day, either after our day’s activities, or to launch the kayaks, the location of which was extraordinarily convenient. I should also note, we have kayaks at home and paddle a lot. The single kayaks -the only ones we used- were very high quality and perfect for most of the changing lake conditions. The waves seemed to pick up in the afternoon, but the kayaks were very sea worthy and easy to paddle. Then came Labor Day weekend and the beach become so crowded, we barely recognized it. Tons of groups “set up camp” with awnings, toys and furniture lined up along the water, most of which remained in place for the duration of the weekend. Of course, we had become spoiled having had the beach all to ourselves for the 10 days prior, so our standards were high. We were also conscious of social distancing, so stayed away from the beach (and most everything else) for the holiday weekend. To be clear, it was not just the beach, but the whole town was transformed for the holiday weekend from the week prior. Also, we had no children in our group. The beach, and complex generally, was very kid friendly, and, during non-Covid times, I’m sure it would be a fun environment for little ones. All-in-all, it was a fantastic vacation during this unprecedented time. We really needed this one, and it did not disappoint.
