"On arrival the greeting was so welcoming. We had also had an upgrade in room. The room spotless and a gorgeous view of the well maintained garden. The breakfast was amazing with both a choice of fresh fruit, cereal, yoghurt. Then a coked breakfast with several choices of either full cooked or eggs Benedict, scrambled eggs and bacon, eggs Florentine also vegetarian choices. This was an outstanding experience."

"We loved our salty ate the lodge. The grounds are tidy and as described being next to the lake and very peaceful. The birds that visit and feed from the deck are beautiful and great to watch. Lodge is warm and cosy and has everything needed for a great stay. Ali was great to deal with and very good with responding if we have any questions. "We loved staying at this lodge. It’s secluded and was fantastic for self-catering. Just over 10 mins drive to the amazing village of Keswick which has incredible eateries. Sam and Jan, the hosts, were fantastic as was their local handyman who needed to help us with a tiny issue…he appeared in less than 15 minutes of us texting them! Absolutely crucial for there to be excellent comms with hosts and that’s exactly what we experienced. Important to note there is nothing at the lodge resort or nearby in terms of shops/stores etc (and we knew this, so we were fine as we came very well prepared with food, snacks etc) and there is no “deliveroo” nearby. So if you’re arriving late either eat before you get there or make sure you bring your own provisions. We at a Fellpack in Keswick the first night and it was amazing! The next night we ate at Star of Siam. For breakfast one day we at at Fabrica. All in Keswick. We only needed to put on the heating briefly but when we did it was plenty powerful. Bring with you: Your own favourite olive oil/cooking oils, herbs, loaf of bread from one of the many good bakeries in Keswick, a couple of extra dishwasher tablets and laundry detergent if you are staying a few days, a couple of board games in case it starts chucking it down so much that you can’t hike, shower gel and shampoo. We brought our two cats with us and they loved it!Leave at home: Towels"
