"Booked a “premium suite” and paid a premium price for a suite that has no dedicated shower. The shower is a handheld inside a huge jacuzzi tub with no shower curtain! Your bathing options are to fill and drain an enormous spa size tub or slip & slide on uneven jacuzzi seats spraying water everywhere. The hotel response “you booked a jacuzzi suite”. Apparently not an issue they fail to mention the suite has no shower. The grounds are nice but the rooms and resort are dated and frankly this “premium” suite and tub/shower is a joke. Management called to offer a different room at 8pm on our last night … a but late. Friends traveling in our group had a similarly dated non-premium suite … but at least their unit had a proper shower! This is a 3 star resort at best and if you like a shower be sure to confirm what you’re getting or better yet stay elsewhere."
"The resort was beautiful. Rooms are amazing. Breakfast included was very delicious. Hot springs were amazing at the end of a long day hiking at the nearby parks and recreations. Overall, just wonderful!!"
The Royal Corin Thermal Water Spa & Resort - Adults Only
10/10 Excellent
"Beautiful resort. The staff was amazing! They greeted us by name every day! The food, OMG! I’ve never seen a better breakfast buffet. Everything was extremely clean. The hot springs are amazing! One of the best resorts I’ve stayed at. "
"Great hotel, comfortable rooms, fabulous pool complex, easy parking, on site food options. Multiple pools including varying degrees of hot springs, and natural pools, swim up bar, etc. Ideal location for activities including coffee/chocolate tours, hanging bridges, La Fortuna waterfall, tubing, etc. La Fortuna is 10 minutes away in an Uber which is cheap and efficient and has lots of bars and restaurants. Loved this hotel and the area"
Arenal Paraíso Resort & Thermo Mineral Hot Springs
4/10 Poor
"The villa has some positives, including parking right in front of the room and a pleasant breakfast setting.
However, several issues significantly affected our stay. The room had insects, the bathroom was not well maintained and did not feel clean, and the bedding was uncomfortable. There was also no water one evening, which was very inconvenient. Service was slow, and there was a billing error at checkout.

"The setting is honestly breathing! Surrounded by lush landscape and incredible views of the volcano, you feel completely immersed in nature. You wake up and immediately appreciate how beautiful and peaceful everything is. That said, the location does come with a bit of a trade-off. It’s quite far from town and most excursions, so getting around requires some planning (and time). If you’re hoping to pop in and out easily, this might not be the most convenient option.
The property itself is charming but the rooms are a little dated in terms of decor and overall feel. It didn’t take away from the experience though.
The he only real disappointments was the pool, it’s quite small considering how large the property is, and it felt a bit underwhelming given the otherwise expansive setting.
Also worth noting: be prepared for a workout! The hotel is built into the landscape, so there’s a lot of uphill walking. It adds to the unique character of the place, but definitely bring good shoes and be ready for some stairs and climbs.
Overall, it’s a beautiful, peaceful escape with stunning surroundings—just go in knowing it’s a quiet offset resort from the more touristy area of Fortuna. "
"A million good things to say about this hotel. Our check-in team was incredibly friendly. When they learned that my mom was sick and had to go to a hospital in San Jose, they processed our refund without any problems. Everywhere we went, the staff exceeded our expectations.
The rooftop even provided room service for us, and one staff member went out of their way to bring a special knife to cut open our coconut. This is the kind of place where you can truly relax and trust the people around you to take care of your needs.
We will definitely come back. The hotel’s designer is also a genius—the property is beautifully laid out. The pools have great depth for little kids, and the whole place is very family-friendly with thoughtful safety considerations throughout."
